Our land is certified organic, and we use organic and regenerative practices with our land and cattle. We are a Certified Organic, grass based farm, located just 6 miles East of Troy - family owned and operated since 1952. We grow grass-fed beef, eggs and herdshares. In addition our teenage son raises grass-fed chicken. We began to graze our cows in 2001 and saw immediate benefits to the health of
our cows and began to learn of the health benefits of grass fed for us. As we continued to research and learn, we discovered the added benefits of organics on our health. We began our journey to being Certified Organic in 2007 and gained our Certification in April 2011. Somewhere along this farming journey we added eggs, beef and our son's chickens...and what we've found is that there is nothing better than eating farm fresh nutritious foods! And as a bonus we get to enjoy watching our cows and chickens eat the green grass in the pasture, just as God intended! We often get asked why Bair-Trax? In 1853 a portion of the current farm was deeded to the railroad and Grayson Station was built. Grayson Station was a train stop until sometime in the 1940’s. It was used to transport passengers into Troy and as far as Indianapolis. Cattle were loaded on the trains there and some of the cement corner posts from the cattle holding pens are still standing. The railroad continued to use the tracks until the last train passed through in 1976. To incorporate the history of the railroad we chose the name Bair-Trax.
