🥑🍍 A note of farewell!
Fresh start, new beginnings - that’s what everyone longs for at the new year right? And for Maria’s Bowls and Smoothies, that’s coming in many ways.
First, it is time for me to step into the next chapter of my life. This is done with much deliberation from the heart, a grateful soul and hopeful future to make space for nurturing what’s closest to my heart - my family.
For over 30 years, I have served in some capacity of the restaurant business. Wheather running my own store front, to behind the scenes with food proveyors, to the front line serving my most loyal customers. My passion and commitment for the hospitality business started at a very early age. My father’s bakery business in Long Island set the stage for my drive to serve the community. I have also been very passionate about my involvement with the American Heart Association, that will always be near and dear to my heart.
My shift in course leaves me speechless with the amount of support and love from my customers through out the years. I am looking forward to being more involved in the church, as well as outreach opportunities thru church, along with having time for some of my hobbies, like pickle ball and traveling! I long to pass down the work ethic, passion for food and legacy to my 8 children and 8 grandchildren. Working together with them in the kitchen has always been a cherished time and I plan to make more memories there now with the extra time I’ll have.
Lastly, the cafe will be operated by Haseim Townsend, owner of Organa, an existing business within Riverstreet Market. He will take over operations as a driven business owner and food lover himself. Please continue to stay connected via social media for all the latest events, specials and online ordering!
Thank you for all your support over the last 30 years. It’s now time for me to move onto the next chapter in life. Love always, Maria!
