This is one of those times we recommend getting your goodies BEFORE the hike. has the best picnic supplies, great sandwiches and of course Après Pop popcorn. They are conveniently located near tons of trails but it’s an especially great choice before the Glacier Way Loop, because you can stop at the picnic table and enjoy your snacks with a view of the pacific crest. (Do it clockwise so the table is closer to the end and downhill to the parking lot!)

Granite Chief Trail is a special trail on its own, but if you ski Palisades there’s something particularly neat about exploring the area in the summer. Follow up this butt burner by catching a movie by the lake! Commons Beach each Wednesday this summer you can find . On July 16th and 31st we’ll be there selling popcorn! Shout out to all the crews working the Royal Fire! Happy to see all the progress. Also shout out to Tahoe Mountain Sports for picking trails that get us out there. The Sierra Buttes trail is worth coming from much farther than Truckee. And it has a fire lookout so you can see if anything is flaring up! The in Sierra City is the place to go for a drink or dinner after. It’s like stepping back in time in the best of ways. Great food, and nice spaces in and out. We went big and got a steak and it delivered.

Our Brown Butter Tarragon flavor starts with whole, organic tarragon. We use it to make a compound brown butter that goes on the popcorn. It’s a lot harder than applying flavor goop from a big midwest factory but it’s worth it.

I am proud to say Après Pop is now available on shelves at the Glenshire General Store () and Tahoe Food Hub ()! Truckee has an alternative to white cheddar and it’s made with local organic kernels. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
