A rising tide raises all ships. 🩷 That's one of my favorite phrases to frame collaboration over competition. These pretty bouquets are going out with a few anemones in each one, grown by our flower friends over at .

Our big anemone corm order last fall got delayed... delayed... canceled. It's been a bummer not having them this spring. Thanks to Carlee and crew for growing these beautiful ones we tucked into week 3 of spring shares. 💕

Congratulations to who won the dahlia growing series giveaway! Our first class is this Saturday, and I can't wait. 😁

This group will meet on the flower farm in May, July, September, and October. We'll go through all phases of dahlia growing together, and they're going to learn so much. It's a fun way to fast track your dahlia growing game and find more joy in your garden. It's also my absolute favorite thing I do all year. 🌸✨️

Pictured: Southern Belle 🩷 Lots of blooms and makes a great cut flower. I'm trying her out in the high tunnel this year to see if she can handle the heat as her name suggests.

💐 Mother's Day flower bar from 12-3 pm on Sunday in Trumansburg! I'm bringing tulips, ranunculus, sweet William, narcissus, and more.

You pick your size and varieties, and I'll wrap it up for you to bring home or give to mom. Plus there will be some potted dahlia tubers for your cutting flower garden.

Music, lunch specials, ICE CREAM, and a few other vendors. Perfect mid-day stop on what is supposed to be a sunny Sunday. ☀️ Will I see you there?

The trick is to try to love it all. All the flower phases. The tulips into peonies into zinnias. The lisianthus when it's finally here. The dahlias. And also the work. The hand-weeding and muddy clothing and moving things around. So much moving things around.

The reality? I come close with room for improvement. 🙃 The flower part is easy. They're beautiful and thrilling still. I love this job and am grateful every day that my path led me here. But honestly, however hard you think flower farming is, multiple that by a lot and it'll get you close to what it takes. I had no idea. 🫠

So the practice is equanimity - and if you can tip it towards enjoyment when you're doing something you wish you weren't then you've cracked the code.

The next few weeks will have us hurtling through so much field work. And on the other side will be thousands of flowers planted for you, blooming until Thanksgiving or so. Coffee, birdsong, sleep, and lots of elbow grease and then ⚡️ we'll be there. Weeding and moving things around. 🤪 And by we I mean I'm not doing this alone. Keanna and Annie sprinkled with some help from my mom and aunt and son and Danny 💕

When I lived out west, my mom would send me flowers every May Day. It was the sweetest thing to receive every spring. 💕 We're in love with week 1 of spring flower shares. Keanna did a beautiful job with raspberry tulips and pink and orange ranunculus.
