What happens when the farmers an agency is supposed to serve read the agency one way, and the agency reads them another? A new JAFSCD study of Latino/a immigrant farmers and agricultural service providers in Missouri finds that cultural misreading — not farmer capacity — drives much of the gap between Latino/a farmers and the programs meant to support them.

Today, I delivered a quarter of a beef all the way down in Osage Beach. Never did I ever expect to have interest in our meats from someone down in this area! I know it’s small, but it just puts our reach into perspective. Thank you for supporting us and our farm, no matter where you are.

It’s a great day at the Lake Saint Louis Farmers & Artists Market at The Meadows! Organ blend ground beef and chicken are back in stock. Come see us!

Kody knows a thing or two about grasses and grazing. A tour of his farm is happening on July 28th and it’s a great idea to attend!

Seeking “greener” pastures?

Come to MRCC mentor farmer Kody Karr’s family farm on July 28 for a pasture tour and to learn about cost-share programs that can help you build a better grazing system.

This pasture tour, sponsored by Ozark Native Seed will be from 1 to 4 PM on Tuesday, July 28, at Karr’s farm near Monroe City (this is Karr and his wife, Dahrea, pictured in their pasture).

Learn about:
- How to properly graze natives for long-term success
- Native grass seeding
- Grass ID and calculating forage availability

Also learn about cost-share opportunities for:
- seeding native warm season grasses
- fencing
- watering systems

See these practices in action and learn how to implement these conservation methods. Can’t wait to come? To attend, please register with Ozark Native Seed (link in comments).
