Thank You to GEM’s disaster relief “Getting Back To Business” and these talented contractors rebuilding from Hurricane Helene’s destruction at Sundog Gardens! We have been back in business with winter Cold Stratification Seed Germination & Live Staking for WNC’s 2025 growing season. So excited our Sundog composting operations are expanding as we begin our 2nd decade of composting!! We have 4 newly built above ground bins for building & aging larger amounts of compost. Another benefit, no more bending over, or at least not as much. We are fortunate to have plenty of space to make our own amendments for growing delicious organic produce & practicing permaculture.

Garlic planting season has arrived at Sundog!! We choose our garlic for its flavor, large clove & bulb size & storage qualities. After a long growing season throughout winter & spring, this garlic will be harvested before the summer solstice in June 2018. Accepting orders. Our large bulbs sellout quickly.

Sundog is harvesting the most delicious edamame during September. Simple to cook & add to salads & stirfrys & eat as a snack. A one cup portion supplies approximately 1/3 daily requirement of protein for an adult as well as good fats & nutrients for a healthy diet.

TATERS!! TATERS!! TATERS!! Have you ever eaten a freshly harvested Yukon Gold Potato? We have been patiently waiting since mid-April to harvest these beauties. Let us know if you would like a pound or two.

Potatoes are a very popular food source providing fiber, more potassium than a banana and lots of vitamin C & vitamin B6. Also, provides magnesium and antioxidants. And no fat, sodium or cholesterol.
