Desert Dreams

Not something you want to see in the dry, lonely desert, especially close to your property! Apparently an a/c repair truck got stuck in a sand wash on the way to a job in our area and the hot engine caught the grass on fire. Next thing you know 4 combustible tanks blew! Driver was safe but definitely shook up. The truck was a flaming charred shell of what once was.

Todd and I were ready to go grab shovels and put out the smaller fires with sand, but more O2 and acetylene could have blown at any second.

Fortunately the TPFD made it to the fire in under 20 mins and the fire was put out quickly. SO THANKFUL for them and that no one was hurt and the fire was contained quickly.

Just found this little beauty right where I walk the dogs. I'm not sure exactly what or where it is now, but it is getting bigger and there is most likely a nest close by. Message received loud and clear! 😳 ⚠️🐍🌵

Even on rainy days the homestead is beautiful.

Drove the Titan to the 120 to see if it could handle the washes and terrain. It did great! It was like being in safari seeing all the animals along the way. Next step is to secure a tractor and start clearing land so we can plan the OTG homestead build.

IT'S MOVE-IN DAY!!
We're so excited to finally be reunited with our washer/dryer, beds, and the 3 chairs we decided to bring with us to Tucson. 😃

We're also thankful will help the unloading go quicker!

Sitting on our porch this evening watching the rain slowly move across the valley and to our north. The breeze is indescribable! Still no moving van, but that's OK.

WE FINALLY MADE IT and are loving our new home out in the of Tucson AZ! Still waiting on furniture and rest of the home goods to arrive. It was and will be an adventure until the permanent house is built.

We are exhausted!
