💩POOP💩

Rabbit p**p has some unique qualities, and there’s a couple different things coming out of your rabbit. This video is more meant for novices who might be wondering what they’re seeing in the rabbit’s trays.

While I might get the tiniest amount crass and goofy in this video talking about poo, it was a topic that Susie shared she sees lots of people on rabbit groups asking about — thanks for the idea, and hopefully this covers things! 😊

TATTOOING!

In order to show your rabbit in an ARBA Show, its left ear must have a clear, legible, permanent tattoo in the left ear.

Shannon is the tattoo master and shares all of the tips, tricks, and best practices to keep you and your rabbit safe, calm, and comfortable for this process!

When do I decide a junior is ready to show? That’s a fairly easy answer — when it looks ready and seems like it can compete.

If you take nothing else from this video, take that showing super young rabbits doesn’t do you any favors on the table but it also doesn’t do the young rabbit any favors either. I believe that taking something out too young comes with risk for its health and future development. Waiting almost always brings more reward. 😊

Juggling babies! These are the fosters that are being raised by someone other than their birth mom.

I’m a huge advocate of fostering babies when you need to. I don’t do anything special, simply add the foster babies to the nest of the doe I want to raise them, pop it back in, give her a treat, and move on. If they are the same color babies, I use red nail polish on the nape of the neck so I know which was fostered and keep pedigrees straight. That’s it. 😊

Raising Netherland Dwarfs, or any breed with multiple varieties that intertwine, becomes much more predictable (and fun) if you learn how rabbit color genetics work. I promise it’s not difficult, and there’s a way for everyone to learn even if you never know the true ABC’s.

Any breeder who preaches about “clean” or “pure” lines has likely just not seen the recessive genes pop out from their rabbits yet. 😉 But have no fear, almost everything can be safely used to help your herd if the type is there and, more importantly, the knowledge on how to use it!
