In our search for vitality and optimal health we have come to the conclusion that our health -- in fact, our very lives -- depends upon the quality of the food we eat, and that, in turn, depends upon the quality of the soils from which that food is coming. To quote Arden Andersen, respected physician and world authority in biological agriculture, "Yes, we have a lot of human health and environmen
tal challenges before us in the 21st century. Every one of them is directly or indirectly connected to food quality, which really means nutritional value of the food -- and this nutritional value is a changeable, correctable challenge." This would be a great disservice to humankind, as others may be waiting for us to act, and we don't have any time to waste. We want to be a part of the solution! Thus, we will strive to have everything that is produced on our farm be of the highest nutritional quality. Our 60 acre farm is located near Tucumcari in beautiful sunny eastern New Mexico. We moved to the farm in the spring of 2003 with no knowledge whatsoever of farming, only a life-long dream of being on a farm and an obsession to provide our family with nourishing, sustaining food. During this time we have learned enough to just glimpse our true level of incompetence and a little of the vastness of the knowledge we have yet to learn! Farming is humbling work! We are working to have healthy land that is able to produce the very best quality of life for the plants, animals and people that live here, and our plan for the farm is to be both profitable and sustainable.
