I have a lot of new followers, so it’s time to re-introduce myself. I would like to add, if it wasn’t for my husband believing in me, I wouldn’t be where I am today. He helps order my supplies, helps me print out my edible images and he is there for me when l’ve taken on to many orders. I thank God for my husband and for his support and encouragement on what I love to do.
My name is Karen and I am the creator of craaaazzzycakes. Although, looking back, I think my husband came up with this name. 😉
I’ve been married for 30 years and have two beautiful daughters, 22 & 20.
Baking has always been a passion of mine.
That love started with baking cookies with my grandparents during Christmas time as a little girl. To this day, I have carried on that tradition. As a teenager, I started baking cakes for families birthdays.
We moved to Tulare, Ca in 2008 and I believe in 2009 my husband bought me a Tigger cake pan because my youngest loves Tigger. So, I baked that cake and decorated it with a star tip with no experience at all. After that, I took 3 classes at Michael’s. Beginning cake decorating, intermediate and then advanced.
I would bake cakes for family and friends and document here on IG.
In 2022, we moved my mom from SoCal to live closer to us so l can take care of her.
I resigned from my job at the school district.
I started doing cake pops with no experience at all. All the cake pops I have done have been self taught and little by little they became my number one selling item.
As of January 2024 | decided to do this full time while caring for my mom. This gives me an opportunity to be her caregiver and do what I am passionate about.
My mom turns 80 this month and I have to admit juggling being a wife, mom, caregiver and baker is a challenge but thanks to my supportive family I am able to do what I am passionate about!
