Hey y’all! Long time no see!
It’s Mackenzie here and I just wanted to post a little family update in case you haven’t heard!
Mike/Dad celebrated his 50th birthday in July and instead of the weekend getaway or a ride in a fancy car that you would typically celebrate a milestone birthday with - he decided he wanted to add his own special twist!
As many of you know we sold out of our family dairy farm about four years ago and this guy was missing his cows! However, this time around he decided he wanted something a little less labor intensive than running a dairy farm. Though our hearts will always be with the dairy industry as that was our start in agriculture, and some of the greatest people and friendships have come from the industry -we are so excited for this new chapter! So, that being said I am introducing the newest additions to the family - our Texas Longhorns!
What started out as a “small herd” of four, quickly became five and by the time I got home from a summer away, there just so happened to be eight, and we are expecting another baby to be born shortly.
These girls and our two baby boys love upstate New York and the change of pace they have had from the drought season in Texas. They love to snack on just about anything they can find, including shrub, leaves, grass, baylage, grain and lots and lots of apples.
They’re a special crew, extremely docile and calm, but do get very excited and a little rowdy about the abundance of snacks from visitors.

We hope the day is filled with family, friends and all things joyous! May you all be filled with peace and take a moment today to remember the true reason for this season! We are so thankful and grateful for the past year(s)- from the amazing opportunities we have experienced, to the life long friendships made! We couldn’t have accomplished what we have without so many of you and we are truly so thankful! We are looking forward to seeing what 2018 brings! May your holiday be truly blessed and we wish you all a truly wonderful, and prosperous new year!

Many years ago, when I was getting started in swiss, I was fortunate enough to meet Jerry Harkness, who became a friend and mentor for many years . When Jerry sold his cows out he called me up and and said he had 5 older cows , that were not going with the rest ,. He said " I will make you a good deal , they can be your foundation. He talked me into it.
Babes was a daughter of one of those cows - our first home bred Ex cow- and we have family members still in the herd. Many thanks to Jerry's guidance and wisdom while he was alive.
With that in mind and having excess animals, we have 3 older cows that could be the next persons foundation! All are fresh with in the last month and all are multiple E cows. None look there age and are sound cows with fantastic udders!
Ziembarbway Eros Brassy 3E91 - fresh a week. Born 06/09/2006. Records to 29000 ( we have 3 daughters here) multiple generations of ex to 93

Stox Zues Bailey 3e 92 ( just got 3Rd E 10 days ago). Fresh 3 weeks . Born 05/09/2007 records to 24,678 with 5.3 test. Her grand dam is Hoostead jetway Nicole ( hm all American) in 7th lactation , looks 5

Vine Valley Zues Wilma 2E91 - X 92x 92 X 92 to whisper and wiz bang . Born 08/04/10 . Her sr 3 Braiden just scored 89- 91 ms. Again, we already have 3 daughters here. She is slightly slack in a rear qtr , but milks fine .
