My babies are 7.5 weeks now!! 🥰 In the first picture I have pink or blue as to what I think they are, because there are only two sexes I can choose from. 😁 There are a couple I'm not completely sure about, though.
I did their portraits, then there are pics to show their growth from 3 days, 4 weeks and now. They seriously change soooooo much in a short amount of time!
The big white one in the first pic is the absolute sweetest roo. He lets me just pick him up and sits there and lets me pet him. I love all of them though. 😍 The 4th picture has the CUTEST little cheeks!!!! 🥰

My heart was broken today... 💔😭 We had to say goodbye to Oreo. We haven't actually had him for awhile, but he was still very much a part of our family. We got him when we got the llamas in 2020. He came as part of the package. He had such a huge personality and was just a love bug!! ❤️ We fell in love with him right away. In 2022, I came across a lady who was looking for someone with a goat she could borrow as a friend to her aging horse. They didn't want to get more farm animals, but had recently lost their horse's companions and he was lonely. They didn't figure it would be for long and I knew Oreo missed his llamas, as he had grown up with them and was now with just smaller goats. He and Buster, the horse, became quick friends!! They just loved each other. Oreo would hide underneath him and peek out when it came time to trim his hooves. Lol He loved to go up on her porch, loved playing with their lab and quickly stole the hearts of everyone around him. We definitely did not plan on this going on for three years, but Buster is still going strong, but Oreo did not age as well. When we got him, they guessed him to be about 3 or 4 y.o., which would now make him 8-9 y.o. The lady who has had him has kept in touch this whole time with regular updates and pictures along with funny stories of his antics. Since fall hit and it's gotten colder, Oreo hasn't done too well. He wasn't putting on his winter weight or coat, and the last few days was not eating or feeling well. The decision was made today to end his suffering. 😭 She said Buster and their lab keep looking for him, which is just as sad. 😓 I know it's part of owning animals, but it totally sucks!! We all love you, Oreo!! ❤️

Updated post on the newest babies! They change so much in a short amount of time. 😊 They're still in their awkward stages (except the two smallest lol), so don't judge. Lol The one little one just HAS to be a girl!!! She is the sweetest thing and just sits and poses perfect. 🥰 I do think I have quite a few boys, but time will tell. 😊

Soooooo..... here's what I ended up hatching with my eggs from Feather Valley Farm. 🥰

* Three Bantam Mille Fleur Cochins - one from last week, one Naked Neck, one precious little doll 🥰
* Two Salmon Favorelles
* One Splash or Mauve Silkie
* One Blue Silkie
* Three Black "Tuxedo Gems" (Colored eggers) - and two have feathered feet 😊

PRAY FOR HENS!! 🙏 😊
I have Blue and Black Silkies, Satins, and Frizzles, two chocolate mottled Naked Neck/Showgirl Silkies, Mille Fleur Bantam Cochins, and my Black English Orpingtons. After watching a friend's chickens during the fire and waking up to the most beautiful green, olive and blue eggs the next morning, I decided I wanted some colored egg layers, also! 😊 Why not?!?! Lol Hence, why I got this variety of eggs from my friend Dessa-Lynn Valley. I'm so glad I finally had such a good hatch!! Can't wait to watch them grow!! 😍

Didn't know which pics to choose from, so you get most of them lol. On Friday, this little one decided to come three days early!! And, on top of that, I found out that I hatched the very first ever, naked neck Bantam Cochin from Feather Valley Farm !! She hasn't even gotten to hatch any of her own yet. So exciting!! 🥰 It has the absolute cutest little fluffy beard!! 😍 Took the pics in a pink box, in hopes of ending up with a hen 🤣🤣

We have seven out of ten piping tonight!! We did get the early baby on Friday. I'll get pics tomorrow night, because I'm out of town right now, but Ben is being an awesome feather daddy! 😁🥰 Thank God for my cameras so I can at least watch them lol

So...... had to do a thing.... I only had one of my four Bantam Cochin eggs hatch and babies don't thrive well alone, so I posted searching for any newly hatched babies on our local page. Ended up with two new standard size Splash Cochin babies to keep ours company. They are the same age and twice as big lol. They are getting along great, with the little one sleeping in between the two bigger ones. 😊 Still have like 18 eggs in another incubator due to hatch on the 12th. Fingers crossed that most of them in that batch make it!! 🤞

We have one Bantam Cochin baby so far!! Nothing with the other three yet. Hoping soon. He (cause that's what I usually end up with lol) is soooooo precious and I just love the colors! 🥰 The video is 4 minutes long, but it's all worth it. I just love when I catch them hatching!! It's the most exciting thing to watch! 😁 I'll post some pics separately, since it won't let me post pictures with a video 🙄

Again, haven't posted in awhile due to "life". 🙄 Had a lot of life changes since mid- July, including getting temp custody of our 4-year-old grandson. I've been on FMLA since July 15 and go back Oct 16. So what do you do when stuck at home??? We must have babies!! 🥰🤣 I actually did get some from broodies this summer, but unfortunately we've lost them all, due to multiple reasons. 😓 So we make more....
Currently have four Bantam Cochin eggs on Day 17, along with 18 various eggs in on Day 6. I've never had anything except my Silkies, Satins, Bantam Cochins and my Black English Orpingtons. Except for one lone Welsummer, Dakota, who is our pet baby.
A few of these other eggs have Ermine, Copper Marans, Bantam Cochins and I think Salmon Favorelles. I just wanted a variety so I can get more eggs if I'm lucky enough to get any hens and would love to finally have some colored eggs. I'm excited to see what I get!! Stay tuned!! 💖
