My heart was broken today... 💔😭 We had to say goodbye to Oreo. We haven't actually had him for awhile, but he was still very much a part of our family. We got him when we got the llamas in 2020. He came as part of the package. He had such a huge personality and was just a love bug!! ❤️ We fell in love with him right away. In 2022, I came across a lady who was looking for someone with a goat she could borrow as a friend to her aging horse. They didn't want to get more farm animals, but had recently lost their horse's companions and he was lonely. They didn't figure it would be for long and I knew Oreo missed his llamas, as he had grown up with them and was now with just smaller goats. He and Buster, the horse, became quick friends!! They just loved each other. Oreo would hide underneath him and peek out when it came time to trim his hooves. Lol He loved to go up on her porch, loved playing with their lab and quickly stole the hearts of everyone around him. We definitely did not plan on this going on for three years, but Buster is still going strong, but Oreo did not age as well. When we got him, they guessed him to be about 3 or 4 y.o., which would now make him 8-9 y.o. The lady who has had him has kept in touch this whole time with regular updates and pictures along with funny stories of his antics. Since fall hit and it's gotten colder, Oreo hasn't done too well. He wasn't putting on his winter weight or coat, and the last few days was not eating or feeling well. The decision was made today to end his suffering. 😭 She said Buster and their lab keep looking for him, which is just as sad. 😓 I know it's part of owning animals, but it totally sucks!! We all love you, Oreo!! ❤️
