New Addition here at the Ranch. Closed yesterday on a 10 acre parcel that adjoins us. While 10 acres doesn't seem like much, this 10 acres gives us direct access to over 500 acres of DNR land without having to travel on any roads! It will take a bit to get things set up to control access and install gates from the ranch, but once done we'll have over 800 acres to ride! More new to follow and now that its getting miserably hot, it must be time for some clinics!

Stands around 14.3. Ranch/pasture raised with a dozen other mares and one mule. Loves people and will follow you around all over. Easy to catch and halter. Will stand for farrier. Current 5 Way and West Nile vaccinations.
While she is halter broke, she is not broke to lead nor has she had trailer load training (my health issues, not horse's fault).

Congratulations to Tina and Kayla from down by the Portland area on the purchase of Whizkey and Whizzy. Was nice to meet a couple of wonderful ladies and was really proud of the two young mares. Despite 45 mph wind gusts and horizontal rains the night before departure and serious winds and gusts on the day of travel, both loaded right up and traveled great! Wishing all the best to Tina and Kayla as you take the mares to their next level of training!

Drug the old side by trailer out again to do some trailer loading training on a new to me mare who's not a big fan on getting in a trailer. She didn't think much of the little side by and I had hoped to get a little better results. She did finally put one front foot in a couple of times and would stick her nose in the back of the trailer, so decided that was a "win" and quit right there. While it would have been nice to get more done, had to remember not to fall into that trap of worrying about what I wanted to get done and take what the horse would give me. We'll have another day. The unexpected bonus for the day was the Border Collie woke up in my pup. He would lay next to the trailer and when the mare started acting up, was instantly behind her letting her know that was unacceptable behavior! He even would go lay back down on command ..... good dog Skeeter!
