How did PCF begin? Take a seat with Hank and Anna on the porch and hear their story.

08/26/2026

Every evening after dinner, we ride the farm and check on the cows. Hank’s Uncle Red always used to say, “I like to look my cows in the eye.” We’ve carried on that same sentiment. Because we believe quality of life equals quality meat.

There’s a lot of talk these days about where meat comes from and how it’s raised. For us, it’s personal. We’re proud of the way we care for our cattle, and we’re proud of the beef that ends up on your table.

We believe in knowing where your food comes from and knowing the people who raised it. If you’re looking to put fresh beef on your table, we’d love to be your farmers.

I’ve been reading the latest news concerning cattle and beef, and as a small American cattle farmer, this one hits close to home.

The administration has announced a plan to temporarily allow up to 300,000 metric tons of additional imported ground beef into the United States at reduced tariffs over the next 90 days in an effort to bring beef prices down for consumers. (AP News)

I understand families are struggling with grocery prices. We see it too. We ARE consumers.

But here is the part I wish more people understood:

Cheap imported beef may sound like help at the grocery store, but it can come at the expense of the American farmer who is trying to rebuild our cattle supply.

Our U.S. cattle inventory is already historically tight. USDA is projecting tighter calf supplies heading into late 2026 and early 2027, while beef imports have already been climbing. (Economic Research Service)

And now we are going to bring in even more foreign beef to try to push prices down?

Several cattle organizations and lawmakers are raising the same concern: lowering cattle and beef prices through increased imports can hurt the very producers America needs if we want to rebuild our domestic cattle herd. (AP News)

Here at Pitts Cattle Farm, we aren’t a corporation.

We are a family farm.

We raise a limited number of cattle each year. We feed them. We check them. We know where they came from. We pay for hay, feed, minerals, equipment, fuel, fencing, land, processing and everything else it takes to put American-raised beef on your family’s table.

And we can’t compete with countries where beef can be produced and imported more cheaply.

This is why your local farmer needs you now more than ever.

When you buy directly from a local cattle farmer, you’re doing more than buying beef.

You’re helping keep cattle on American soil.

You’re helping preserve family farms.

You’re helping build a food supply that doesn’t depend increasingly on another country to feed us.

And you’re putting beef on your table from a farmer you can actually KNOW.

We appreciate every single family who chooses Pitts Cattle Farm. You have no idea how much your support matters, especially in times like these.

Know your farmer. Know your beef. Support American agriculture. 🇺🇸🐄

We started seeing other products with the name, Narcissist, and if you know us, you know we like our products to have a little personality of their own. So, we just decided it was time to dump the Narcissist.

Because if you’ve ever dealt with a Narcissist, you know there’s really only one place they belong… the ex-boyfriend. 😂

So now introducing our newly renamed:
“EX-BOYFRIEND” WASHING POWDER

Same washing powder you love, just with a name you’re much less likely to forget. Gets the dirt out. Doesn’t hang around. Finally, an Ex-Boyfriend that’s good for something.

Now available & restocked at Pitts Cattle Farm Market!

Pitts Cattle Farm is very much a reflection of the life Hank and I have built together. It’s family, faith, hard work, and doing something we truly love side by side.

Today, we celebrate 32 years of marriage and what a blessing those 32 years have been.

We’ve raised a family, built businesses, worked hard, weathered plenty of seasons together, and somewhere along the way, cows became a pretty big part of our life.

Here’s to many more years together and, Lord willing, plenty more cows ❤️

I’ve been thinking a lot about the news coming out of the beef industry lately.

Tyson has announced plans to close or sell additional beef facilities, and one of the biggest reasons being discussed is something we have been telling people for a while now: America’s cattle supply is tight.

And it makes me wonder how many people ever stop to think about where their beef will come from 5, 10 or 20 years from now.

We have become accustomed to walking into a grocery store and assuming the meat case will always be full. But somewhere behind every package of beef is a cow. And somewhere, somebody has to raise that cow.

That takes land.
It takes years.
It takes feed.
It takes fences.
It takes equipment.
It takes a farmer willing to keep doing it.

You cannot manufacture cattle overnight when the supply gets low.

That is why I believe there has never been a more important time to know a local farmer.

At Pitts Cattle Farm, we are not a huge operation producing an unlimited supply of beef. We only raise so many cattle every year, and there is something very intentional about that.

We know our cattle.
We know what they eat.
We know how they are raised.
We look them in the eye every day.

And when our beef is spoken for, it is spoken for. We cannot simply order another truckload to replace it.

We offer both grass-fed and finished beef and grain-finished beef, individual cuts through our market, and bulk beef for families wanting to put away a larger supply.

Maybe the most valuable thing you can have in the years ahead isn’t a freezer full of beef.

Maybe it’s knowing the farmer who can fill it.

Support your local farmers while they are still here.

Because once small farms disappear, they are awfully hard to bring back. 🐄🌾

One farm. One farmer. One cow.
Know where your beef comes from.
