Hey y’all! This is Jeff Jones of Eating Out With Jeff Jones, I’ve been promoting Weezie’s Deli and Gifts and helping manage this page for the past several months.

The turn out for their last day before retirement was amazing! Folks were lined up out side before the doors opened, and were still there at closing time to enjoy the atmosphere, company, and made from scratch Tupelo favorites.

So now what, you may ask. Everyone would love for a new owner or group to take over Weezie’s and keep its essence and atmosphere for generations to come. The owner Vivian Lee is open to offerers and suggestions for the next couple weeks before any major liquidation is considered. After that, we’ll see. I will continue to help as much as possible during this transition.

We began a journey in September of 2001, three days after the tragedy of 911. It was a very uncertain time, especially to begin a new business. But…with divine guidance, a great team, and wonderful friends like you, we have enjoyed over 22 years of service. We now find ourselves at retirement age while at the same time caring for aging family members including my beloved and precious mother, Weezie. As you well know, it is a great joy and privilege to care for those you love so dear.
In addition, our facility was recently sold to out of state investors and with that came change. So…through tears and grateful hearts we have decided to bring our Weezie’s Deli journey to a close at the end of 2023.
I’ve struggled to find the ‘right words’ that could adequately express our love and deep gratitude for your support. Because of your amazing kindness and acts of generosity our lives have been forever changed.
The opportunity we were given to be a part of such a great community, by having known you and your families, our lives have been altogether enriched.
In keeping with our mission statement, ‘Nourish the body and Refresh the soul’ we hope you can say that through the years your bodies have been nourished and your souls refreshed.
But, now we ask you to join in the challenge that is set before each of us….and that is to simply continue our mission…..to always be found Nourishing and Refreshing those around us.
