It wasn't until Congressman Esteban Torres from California proposed a month-long celebration in 1987 and President Reagan signed it into effect in 1988 that it became a 30-day celebration.
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from Sept 15-Oct 15 during which many Latino and Hispanic countries celebrate their independence! 🎊
