One of the things I love most that we do at The Country Corner is supporting local. Kaelani Coffee is a local Turner family who roasts their coffee right here in our community, and they roast fresh every single week to help keep your coffee fresh and delicious! 🤎

When Joe got home today, he showed me this picture. I had to share…

Joe spent most of the day clearing brush and removing dead trees from a property that had gone unmanaged for quite some time.
Overgrown weeds, brush, and small trees had taken over much of the land, making it difficult to use for grazing. Throughout the day, he pushed over trees and cleared vegetation to open the ground back up, improving access and restoring the pasture for cattle.

He told me about coming up to what looked like another dead tree. From the tractor seat, it seemed like it belonged in the burn pile with the rest. He lined up to push it over, but something made him stop.

He climbed down to take a closer look.

That’s when he noticed a branch growing from what he thought was a dead tree. He took a closer look and noticed some apples hanging from the branches.

That old tree wasn’t dead at all.

It had stood there through years of neglect, surrounded by brush, fighting for sunlight, and it was still doing what God made it to do bearing fruit.

He climbed back on the tractor and backed away. That tree had earned the right to keep standing.

Maybe the apples will feed a deer. Maybe a few seeds will sprout. Maybe they’ll never amount to much. But leaving that tree standing felt like the right thing to do.

As he told me the story, I couldn’t help but think about how often we judge things from a distance. We see age, scars, and weathered bark, and we assume the story is over. But sometimes, if we’re willing to look a little closer, we find life where we expected none.

That old apple tree became a reminder that not everything weathered is worn out, and not everything that looks dead has quit living.

Maybe that’s the lesson God had waiting in that pasture today: as long as there’s still life, there’s still purpose. And as long as there’s still purpose, there is hope.

What a weekend!! An absolute whirlwind in the best way. Hanging out with my boy, driving back and forth to our Sublimity lease checking on our mama cows and what a blessing it’s been.

Eight babies this last week… two on Saturday and two on Sunday alone. Six girls, two boys, and six more to go we’re waiting in anticipation for what’s still to come.

It’s been a wild ride, but a good one. We’ve only had to step in and assist with one so far. The rest are up on their feet, eating, running around, and doing great!!

There’s something so special about moments like this, getting to slow down, take it all in, and just watch it all unfold. God’s hand is in every detail. He has trusted us with this gift of new life on the ranch to watch over, care for, and raise up this new herd. What a responsibility, and what a blessing.

These moments never get old. They’re a reminder of His goodness, His provision, and His faithfulness in every season.

What a gift it is to live this life and share it with my family. God is so good! ☀️🤗💛🤠🐮
