We LOVE a non-traditional venue, especially one that served as well as the University Rec Center did for their annual Staff Gala and Awards Banquet tonight!

The gym was transformed into a lovely multi-functional event space and guests arrived ready to party at a pre-dinner reception with hors d'oeuvres and a mashed potato bar, and then enjoyed an Italian style dinner with some phenomenal desserts!

Chef Jay provided an interactive cooking demo for Graduate students where they learned how to make Lamb Sliders and his famous Shrimp and Grits!

After the demo, the students got to sample the tasty recipes along with Spinach Dip, Mediterranean Vegetables, and Mississippi Mud Dessert Shooters. The students thoroughly enjoyed the food and presentation!

Loved designing and providing this dessert reception for students and guest speakers following the University Programs event "100 Questions Answered" tonight at the Ferguson Center.

The four featured speakers were: former NASA Astronaut, Dr. Bernard Harris; Vice President of Operations of State Farm Insurance, Mrs. Margie Southard; former President of ExxonMobile, Mr. Gerald McElvy; and the first African-American University of Alabama’s SGA President, former Member of UA’s Board of Trustees and current Attorney, Cleophus Thomas, Jr.
