Knock knock...

Who’s there?

Calendar Year 2020...

Go away!

Hey friends, here’s a little update.

We have a nice crop of sweet corn coming in, but it’s taking it’s good old time.

We thought we’d attach a few photos to keep everyone updated. It looks great so far!

Farmer Jon’s best estimate is about 2 weeks from now which depends highly on the weather...and varmints which have an uncanny ability of knowing exactly when it’s ready to harvest.

We are unfortunately setting a new record of late harvest, breaking our previous record of July 20th 2005...when we signed the loan papers for the farm. But...but, what we have looks fantastic and we should have an ample supply well into September.

In any case, post any questions...and don’t be afraid to call for an update.

Happy 4th of July fellow Americans!

We’ve had quite a few message inquiries about the status of our corn, so we figured we should probably provide an update.

Ordinarily, we would have corn available around the 4th of July, but the 2020 season has been a challenge to say the least.

We lost some of our early corn due to a hard freeze on May 9th and a little more due to other circumstances.

But, we now have some corn that is beginning to tassel so we are hoping for a target of around the 3rd week of July at the earliest.

Most of the corn that’s being sold in our area is being imported from Georgia at a price almost double what we typically sell ours for.

For now, we prefer to wait until our own corn is ready so we can control the quality, and sell it for a reasonable price.

It’s one of those circumstances that is outside of our control, so we hope everyone understands.

Again, Happy 4th...and we wish everyone good health and happiness. Stay safe.

This might be the last sweet corn planting this year.

We are planting three different varieties of sweet corn here today.

White, Yellow, and Bicolor.

We’re not sure given the weather if they will be ready by July 4th, but if Mother Nature cooperates it’ll be close. Our early yellow variety will likely be the first available followed very closely by the early bicolor that was so very popular last year.

We can’t wait to see our valued customers!

Here’s an update on the Sweet Corn.

This is a bicolor variety and the first that we have that will be available.

As you can see in the picture it hasn’t achieved “bicolor status” and is a bit immature so we have some waiting to do.

We are still hoping for the 4th of July for an opening date, but of course it’s highly dependent on the weather.

We check the fields everyday, so stay tuned.

Hello friends, we indicated that we would be updating regularly now that we are close to sweet corn goodness.

Here is another update. It’s probably at a minimum a week away, possibly 10 days depending on the weather.

We will be checking the first planting on a daily basis.

We can’t wait to see our customers!

Stay tuned!

Hello friends!

Guess what?

Fresh daily picked sweet corn season is just days away. Our early bicolor is now pollinating and will soon fill out the ears.

We are fairly confident that we will be open at least on July 3rd...4th, if not before. This is weather dependent, so keep your fingers crossed for corn friendly conditions.

Stay tuned and check back here frequently. We plan to post frequent updates throughout the season.

If you live in Frederick county and are buying corn from the supermarket, you are doing it wrong:) Tastes so much better fresh from the farm.
The sweet corn has been delicious!
I picked up some yummy corn today. White and yellow varieties. In our house we found the yellow to be sweet and delicious but we preferred the big kernels of the white. It was just a touch less sweet but nice flavor.
What are your hours of operation? Is there still corn available, thanks
Doesn't get much better!
