Not the post you were hoping to make. We are still playing the waiting game. The sweet corn needs more time. It's close. We have a very very few ears that are to the ripeness we want to provide. We have high standards for the harvest we put out to you and it's just not there yet. To give a visual we provided two photos. One you can tell the ear isn't filled out and the color is dull. The other has more color and the ear is fuller with bigger kernels. We want the second option. The heat this week is going to help on top of the rain we got, but we can't predict exactly when it will be. Hoping for tomorrow, but we said that yesterday. Please hang in there with us. We have a field of corn but we are just waiting on things outside of our control. We will keep you updated.

The current plan as it stands is that we will be picking sweet corn tomorrow evening. It needs about another full day to really ripen. This heat and humidity will help. We just got back from the field so thank you for your patience while we work on updating everyone. We will make a post tomorrow when it's out on the stand but it will more than likely be late tomorrow night or early Wednesday morning before we have it picked and available.

Yesterday evening and last night got us .4 inches of rain. This is the most it has rained at the farm in over 3 months. The last few times rain has hit us its been .1 inches or less. Thankful for this and praying for more. You can't predict year to year what mother nature will have in store. You can plan and plant and cultivate and never get the exact conditions to have it go as you want. That's farming. But if we didn't love it we wouldn't do it. Hoping to have sweet corn back on the stand this week.

Unfortunately, we will not have sweet corn out on the stand this weekend. It's just not ripe yet. Let's hope this round of rain forecasted for tonight and tomorrow comes through so we can hopefully put some corn out the beginning of the week. We will keep you posted.

It's been an interesting season so far. The rain forecasted today gave us a few sprinkles but not enough to even wet the ground. We are still temporarily out of sweet corn until the next batch is ripe. It's hard for us to see the fields full of corn with nothing to pick right now. Hope to be able to get some this weekend. We will keep you updated.

We really need rain! 🌽🌧 The rain has gone completely around us the past two weeks. Our stand has the remainder of our ripe corn on it but it won't last long. We are hoping that we will have some out again by next weekend, but as we've said before thats dependent on mother nature. If you know of a good rain dance, please do it, or just send out some hopes and prayers for a good soaker. We have corn in the field, we just need it to ripen. We will make a post and keep you updated as things change.

We have some sad news to share. Our beloved and loyal farm dog and friend Duke has passed away. If you know Duke you know he was our welcoming committee, he made employee of the month a few times, he taste tested donuts, he also supervised us setting up displays and unloading pumpkins all hours of the day. But his most important job was being Darwins faithful companion and friend over the past 4 years. Please keep Darwin in your thoughts and prayers. The farm will be a little lonely without Duke always being around to greet everyone. πŸΎπŸŒˆπŸ•
