We have good news and bad news to share this morning.
The bad news is that we had an attempted theft at the veggie stand.
The good news is they didn’t get away with any money.
Leave the money, take the zucchini……?
(More bad news is that they’re still on the lam).

I looked out the window and saw a picnic table freely moving. I’m pretty sure this was Mozzarella’s attempt to stay shaded while grazing on the grass. I cannot with this pig 🤣

Some of you had interesting guesses but here’s the truth behind the golf ball in the nesting box!
🥚
Teaching nest location: Hens naturally want to lay where they see other eggs. A golf ball acts as a fake egg that tricks young pullets into using the nesting box instead of hiding eggs in the yard.
🪹
Stopping egg pecking: If a chicken tries to peck or break an egg to eat it, hitting a hard golf ball hurts their beak. This teaches them that pecking eggs is a bad idea!
