Propolis: The Quintessential Bee Medicine

We look to the bees as the first alchemists, wise in the medicine ways and shaped by evolving in symbiotic relationship with plants for 100 million years.

The body of a honeybee has no immune system. The immune health of the colony is entirely built into the wax structure of the hive through propolis. The walls of their temple city are a shield of medicine that protects them.

The immune system of plants is expressed through resins that bees gather, mostly from sticky leaf buds and bark of poplars, willows, and conifer trees. The bees add a little wax and their own enzymes to make propolis, which they use to strengthen the walls of their wax comb, fill in gaps and cracks, and control the size of the hive entrances.

This magical bioactive substance is comprised of up to 850 compounds. A powerful immune modulator that protects healthy cells and tissue barriers while defending against harmful microbes, bacteria, virus, fungus, inflammation and oxidative stress.

Thank you bees, for this protection magic panacea that supports vibrant health.

Greetings Beeloveds,

We’re coming to you soon, emerging from our fireside cocoon, beginning to stir from our Winter dreaming where we have been deep in our remembrance of ancestral stories and our prayers for a thriving future, free of tyranny and oppression.

The world is full of the crumbling ruins of empires that thought they would dominate forever.
We stand in solidarity with those most impacted by fascist regimes and with the ones on the front lines protecting the most vulnerable.

There is no liberation without joy. We continue to hold our little piece of this wild world steady- building resilience, creating and sharing life giving beauty as Empire falls.

Come home to the Hive. Gather with the Pixie Traveling Medicine Show and Aimee Ringle in honor of the bees and the Life Force they serve. Take in the medicines of the golden ones who weave sweet abundance into being, tending to the blossoms that ensure the fruits of a future they won’t live to see. Blessing everything they touch with reciprocity and devotion.
