•26,500+ tons
•9,500+ dry matter tons
•5 days with 1 chopper, 4 days with 2 choppers

👏🏽 We’d like to thank the families, the harvest crew members in choppers, trucks and tractors, the bunker coverers, and our personal chef (Karen Strutz) for making the best of our 9 days of chopping.

☀️ The conditions were prime and we were able to continue our harvesting without any significant weather or rain delays.

🍔 Our personal chef kept snacks and drinks out all day long and cooked meals every day! We always appreciate a hot meal.

🏆 Teamwork makes the dreamwork and we are very fortunate to have other local dairy farmers assist with our harvesting needs. The help from friends, families and neighbors is always appreciated. Working on the farm with all his adult children is something Russel Strutz never thought would happen. Now, this fifth-generation dairyman considers himself lucky to spend each day alongside every member of the sixth generation at Strutz Farm Inc.

“I never dreamed it,” Strutz said. “I’m like a baseball player batting four for four. We never thought that would happen. I definitely enjoy working with the kids.”

A beautiful little baby girl made her appearance into the world and our family last week. 🩷🩷

Welcome to our newest member of the Strutz family — Gracie Mae.
Gracie is the daughter of Hannah & Ryan Strutz, and little sister to Marlee.

On October 1, we had the pleasure of hosting around 25 individuals from Brazil that came to visit our dairy operation. These individuals were touring our operation, asking questions with Russel and taking photos to see and learn how day-to-day dairy operations happen in Wisconsin.

Our semen coop, Genex Cooperative, sponsored the tour and visit for these members from Brazil. They provided translation from their language to English and there was a lot of back-and-forth conversation that was able to happen. They were able to walk the grounds by guided tour throughout the milking parlor, milking barns, and outside to even see some Corn Silage harvest happening!

Thank you GENEX and these individuals from Brazil for the eagerness to learn and ask questions and we hope to see you in Wisconsin again soon!

Today, we said goodbye to a very special animal and Nicole’s favorite girl, Salsa. 🐄

Fun facts about Salsa:
•Salsa’s Babies:
Velma, Cherry, Scarlett, Spice, S’Mores, and Sierra
•7 grandchildren
•Velma and Cherry both born in 2019 calendar year!
•Loves scratches and being prompt to the parlor and pregnancy.

7 years, 7 months and 6 lactations later, we will definitely miss this spunky girl. ❤️

Our fall harvests, manure and tillage wrapped up by Black Friday this year.

Our crews stayed busy harvesting nearly 800 acres of silage, 600 acres of dry corn, and 170 acres of soybeans, pumping 11.5 million gallons of manure, and a whole lot of acres of ground to plow.

There were many long days, but we couldn't get it done without the help of some of our crews:
1. Strutz Farm Inc. employees and seasonal help
2. Mike Kaufmann Custom Services LLC for chopping and trucking
3. Wavrunek Farms for combining
4. Countryside Construction (and others subcontracted) for trucking
5. Tisch Mills Farm Center
6. Country Visions Coop & the very best fuel guy around -- Weasel
7. Everyone else who deserves a THANK YOU! Especially Karen Strutz for ALWAYS keeping our bellies full!

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours. 🦃

Thanks to the weather... late planting and late nights, we were able to finish fall harvest and fall tillage early in December.

Leading up to Thanksgiving and days after, we were able to FINALLY harvest our 800+ acres of corn and soybeans.
Nearly 104,000 bushels of crops were harvested between dry and high-moisture corn and soybeans.

With 800 acres of combining also came 800 acres of fall tillage. We were (mostly) able to follow the combine from field-to-field to try to stay ahead of plowing, as long as the weather and temperatures cooperated with us.

We have a lot of people to thank for helping us finish our harvest and field work, but to name a few...
