Guided tours and ticketed events are booked in advance at www.londondairyalpacas.com . LondonDairy Alpaca Ranch has been in existence for over 25 years, and was one of the first alpaca ranches in Wisconsin. The goal is to raise healthy, well-cared for animals for breeding and fiber production, as well as aesthetics and pleasure. No animal is ever slaughtered for meat. The ranch offers guided, int

eractive, educational one-hour tours booked in advance online and pre-paid via our website. LondonDairy is NOT a petting zoo and children must be closely supervised at all times. Tour fee is $10 plus tax for adults and $8 plus tax for children ages 2-14. The Alpaca Threads Gift and South American Wine store is open by advance appointment or following a tour. Most of the items in the store are made from alpaca fiber. Items featured include sweaters, hats, mittens, gloves, socks, blankets, and scarves. We accept all credit cards.

Fun Fact Friday! ❤️

Princess Diana, 3 years old.

Did she come from royalty? Absolutely not! There’s no “princess” in this Diana. She’s more of a step sister… Some days I’d even go as far as saying she’s an evil step sister! Diana and Herd Manager, Megan, go way back. She was one of the first alpacas I’ve ever shown! We worked extremely hard on halter training that year. All of my free time was dedicated to Diana. I wanted to earn her trust. We did end up getting a second place ribbon! BUT there may have only been two alpacas in that class, one was Diana!

Diana used to be very shy. But I feel that as she’s growing older, she’s getting braver and more confident. Diana is going to be a first time mom this year. Her baby was due on May 26th. Come on Diana! I’m patiently waiting, release your baby! 😬

Diana has been so sassy during this pregnancy. She’s been climbing fences to eat leaves from trees. She’s been standing inside of hay feeders. She has even been stealing food from her other pregnant friends. She’s just a sass! But we love her!

Alpacas are very quiet animals. The most common sound that they make is a humming noise. But did you know that they also make alarm calls?

In this video, Salzburg (white alpaca) was alerting her pen mates to a possible danger while they were out in the field. I’m not sure what they saw! Usually they will let us know if they see turkeys, deer, or the occasional fox.

Watch the video all the way to the end with your volume turned up. The noise may surprise you!

Gentle, curious and blanketed in soft fleece, alpacas are often confused with their llama cousins. But alpacas are smaller, with shorter ears and adorable faces covered in fluff.

Their looks and docility are “a huge part of why people fall in love with them,” says Kerri Harting, whose Eagle Eye Farm is home to 67 of these creatures, plus llamas, sheep, pigs, bunnies, donkeys, even porcupines (also very cute!).
