🚨 ATTENTION 🚨
According to this new rule, Jet Streakin’s offspring and Gitter Dun Turnpike’s offspring that are 9 years old or older can enroll into the Ruby Buckle program this year.
If you have a Jet foal that is not 9 or older this year, but was born in 2023 or prior, that foal will be eligible to be enrolled using these same guidelines the year that they turn 9. ALL of Gitter Dun Turnpike’s offspring are eligible once they are 9 years old. This is an incredible opportunity to get those older babies paid in to run at the big money every year!
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or if you need help with the enrollment process.
Wow — we truly appreciate all the kind comments and excitement surrounding our 9 & Over Missed Nomination option this year!
With the great response has come a few questions, so we wanted to take a moment to clarify how this option works and why it exists.
• The 9 & Over (9&O) option is available at this time to create an opportunity for aged horses that may have missed enrollment during the early years of the program. We know there are many open and youth horses whose owners would love to participate, and our goal is to provide this opportunity where possible.
• Our program is currently seven years old. Because of this timing, all existing horses have been eligible to enroll at some point when their sire was apart of the program , which is why the 9 & Over Missed Nomination option is available today. This is also why the rule currently reads “9 & Over sired by ANY Ruby Buckle stallion at a point in time.”
As the program continues to mature, this language will change. Going forward, eligibility will be limited to horses whose sires were enrolled during the horse’s age-eligible enrollment years.
Progeny will be eligible only if conceived or born during the year(s) the stallion was enrolled (or prior). Once a stallion exits the program, eligibility opportunities for future progeny are void.
• If a stallion left the program prior to your horse being bred, that horse would not be eligible.
• This option will be offered annually. For example, if you have an 8-year-old in 2026, that horse would be eligible for the 9 & Over option in 2027.
• It’s also important to note that missed nomination opportunities already exist through November 1 of a horse’s 4-year-old year. The program is designed around annual stallion nomination, which is what allows us to maintain long-term sustainability and consistent support from our stallion owners. You can always check a horses nomination status with us prior to purchasing!
The 9 & Over (9&O) option is offered as a limited accommodation based on the age of the program and is not intended to replace or diminish the importance of annual nomination. For this reason, eligibility is not extended across all ages, and annual participation remains the standard and preferred method of maintaining eligibility within the program.
As always, we appreciate your support, your questions, and your passion for the program — and we’re excited to continue growing together!
