After a long, emotional couple of days, we are so proud to give y’all our results! This was our first MBN competition, and we competed in the ribs category. At the end of the day, we finished 4th in the pro division! Excited is an understatement! Also so proud for our friends, Hank King and Mark Porter, for their first place rib finish and for winning the grand championship! The contest organizers also gave us a beautiful plaque in honor of Chad, which meant a lot to us. We know he is so proud of how we finished today. Thank you to everyone for their kind words, support, and help this weekend. The BBQ community has truly embraced us, and we are so grateful to you all. See y’all soon!

Devastated and heartbroken don’t begin to describe how we are feeling today. As many of you know, we lost a teammate yesterday. Chad Reed was more than that to us. He was our family. He and Tina were the founding members of Sheltered Smoke. When Lynn and I joined the team in 2018, we had no idea what a ride we were in for. One thing you can say about him is that life was never boring! It’s hard to imagine how we will continue without him, but we have to find a way. It’s what he would have wanted. Thank you for all the calls, messages, and kind words over the past couple of days. They mean more to us than you will ever know. ❤️-Jennifer

First team planning meeting of 2026! Finally got to sit down last night and figure out which competitions we were going to cook this year! First up….Rollin on the River in Tylertown on March 27-28. This will be our first MBN comp and we are really excited! We are planning to cook several comps this year, also including some BCA and SCA cooks! Stay tuned for all of our adventures this year!

Chad and Lynn had the privilege of being invited to speak at the monthly meeting of the Wednesday Club at The Country Club this past Wednesday. They enjoyed sharing the ins and outs of BBQ with the ladies at the meeting. Thanks for the opportunity to spread BBQ love!

Good morning, everyone! Wanted to give y’all an update on our BCA competition yesterday in Biloxi! We had a fantastic day! We ended up with a 3rd place rib, made the final table in chicken, and were less than one point from the final table in brisket! All in all, a great cook! But more importantly, we are having a BLAST!!! As always, thank you to our amazing sponsors, Smokin' N The Bandits Barbecue co., Covington's Ace Hardware, East McComb Body Shop Inc, and Grills of Mississippi for their never ending support! We would also like to thank our wonderful friends, Sean Keady and Leigh Ann Stone Keady for coming and hangin out with us yesterday (and especially for the delicious snacks they brought with them!!!). What an amazing day we had in Sumrall, MS at the Sumrall Rotary’s “Grilled and Grateful” contest! At the end of the day, we received 4 calls, including 8th place in Steak B, both 1st and 3rd place in “Anything Thanksgiving”, and a 1st place in Ribs! Those two first place calls earned us two “Golden Tickets” to the SCA World Championships at Texas Motor Speedway next March! We couldn’t be prouder! A special thank you to our sponsors, Smokin' N The Bandits Barbecue co., Covington's Ace Hardware, East McComb Body Shop Inc, and Grills of Mississippi for their never-ending support.
