Gray Heritage Farm

Gray Heritage Farm A veteran and family owned farm in the heart of northeastern NC.

We have been working for the past year to restart the next phase of our farm after a major financial setback. Unfortunately, due to this loss, most of our plans to build a sustainable family farm are on hold for the foreseeable future. Until we have a clear plan forward, there will be few posts to this page. While we are saddened by this decision and personally dismayed at what led to this, we are assured that the Lord has other plans.

"The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." - Psalm 16:9

It may be hot where some of you celebrate, but Santa and the Christmas Council love seeing all the posts about Christmas in July. So to keep with that theme, we are officially announcing that not only with the Christmas couple be returning for the Elizabeth City/Pasquotank County Parks and Recreation Christmas parade this year, but they also already have appearances at Seven Sounds Brewing Company, Lily Pad Pottery, Jarvisburg Elementary School, New Community Church of Elizabeth City, and others. Official dates will be posted in a few months.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Unfortunately, we have experienced a major financial setback in our plans for this year. For those who keep up with one of our personal pages or are in local FB groups, you know that we had hired someone last November to build a large fence around the front section of GHF. This would have enclosed one of the fields where we had planned to raise livestock. The person did not even start the project, never paid for the materials from the supplier we gave him the money for, and refused to return any of the money. He did not perform any labor nor incur any financial costs on his own.

While we are still able to sell eggs locally, the loss of $19K to this person has resulted in our need to reassess current and future plans. Charges were filed several months ago but we are waiting for an actual court date after 3 continuances on the part of this person. We would appreciate your prayers for guidance as we move forward.

At GHF we seize every opportunity to stress safety….like sliding down the bed of a new dump trailer at full tilt.

This year's honey harvest yielded comparatively very poor results. We captured several swarms early in the season but lost two of our most productive hives. Because of this we are only able to sell honey to a few customers who had already reached out to us.
