I was 3/4 of the way through this article before I discovered how this was possible - Spotted Lanternfly feed on Ailanthus Tree (Stink Tree or Tree of Heaven) and secrete a "honeydew" that the bees are feeding on. Now you know.

Within the last two years, the lanternfly population in Pittsburgh has been on the rise. Now, bees are making lanternfly honey in hives across the city.

It's very warm for Christmas eve here in Ohio, 56 degrees. The bees are taking advantage of the warmth and are attracted to the bird seed.
