Finger Lakes Wine Month, through the lens of Riesling.

This past May, Riesling Camp brought wine professionals from across the U.S. to the Finger Lakes for an immersive look at one of the world’s leading cool-climate wine regions.

Across four days of vineyard visits, comparative tastings, and conversations with the people growing and making the wines, the focus was on what matters: site, climate, vintage, and the decisions that shape Finger Lakes Riesling.

For Finger Lakes Wine Month, we’re revisiting Riesling Camp through the FLWA Journal, sharing the perspectives and experiences that continue to move the region forward.

The FLWA Journal continues with Wagner Vineyards Estate Winery. 🍷

For five generations, the Wagner family has been growing grapes on the east side of Seneca Lake, building a legacy that continues to shape the winery today. The current generation carries that same connection to the land and family tradition, while finding ways to bring new ideas and technology into the work.

It’s a story of staying connected to where you started while continuing to move forward.

For Billsboro Winery, celebrating 20 years this year, the Finger Lakes is defined by more than one vineyard. By sourcing grapes from exceptional sites across the region, they celebrate the diversity of the Finger Lakes and craft wines that express the character of each unique growing season and place.

The event guides are ready, and we’re looking forward to welcoming over 35 buyers, sommeliers, retailers, and hospitality professionals from across upstate New York to the Finger Lakes wine region.

We are excited to introduce the Finger Lakes Wine Courtyard Series, a new summer collaboration between Max of Eastman Place and the Finger Lakes Wine Alliance.

Join us on Thursday, July 16, from 5:30–8:00 p.m. for our complimentary Grand Opening in the Max of Eastman Place Courtyard. Enjoy wine tastings from 5 Finger Lakes wineries, Max Bar & Bistro tapas offerings, and live acoustic music by Danny Eaton. Wineries will have order forms and informational literature available for guests.

The event will be held rain or shine, with the Atrium serving as the rain location if needed. Validated parking is available in the University of Rochester Lot #8212 on Gibbs Street, across the street from Max of Eastman Place.

One week until Riesling Camp 2026! 🍇

From May 18–21, we’ll welcome this year’s campers to the Finger Lakes for the 11th annual Riesling Camp, with four days dedicated to vineyard walks, tastings, panels, and deeper exploration of what makes the FLX so special.

As we count down, we’re looking back at moments from last year’s camp, while getting ready to do it all again.

Along the way, we’ll dig into past and present vintages, connect with the people behind the wines, and experience the full spectrum of the region.

Our 2026 Riesling Camp lineup is officially complete! 🎉

In just a little over two weeks, we’ll welcome this incredible group of wine professionals to the Finger Lakes for Riesling Camp 2026. From sommeliers and beverage directors to educators, writers, buyers, and hospitality leaders, this year’s cohort brings together a dynamic range of perspectives and a shared passion for Finger Lakes Riesling.

We’re also excited to officially welcome Mike Clarcq of Carnegie Cellars Wine Bar & Kitchen in Rochester, NY, to this year’s camper group. As a longtime hospitality professional with deep connections to the Finger Lakes wine community, Mike is a wonderful addition to this year’s lineup.
