Nestled where Tennessee, Virginia & North Carolina meet, we craft small-batch honey and beeswax goods from the heart of Appalachia — with the stubbornness that won’t settle for anything less than darn good.

Always learning. 🐝

We’re halfway through a two day beekeeping course with the University of Tennessee Extension program — classroom sessions paired with hands-on apiary training. Beekeeping is one of those crafts where there’s always something new to learn no matter how long you’ve been doing it.

The more we know, the better we can take care of our bees — and the better the honey that makes it into your jar. 🍯

Peach season is coming and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than a jar of homemade Honey Peach Jam. 🍑🍯
Spread it on a warm biscuit, swirl it into yogurt, or give a jar to someone you love. Pure Appalachian summer in every bite. 🐝

The beekeeper’s best friend. 🐝

A little smoke goes a long way in the bee yard — it masks alarm pheromones and encourages bees to focus on eating rather than defending. Calmer bees make for safer inspections and happier beekeepers.

There’s something about the smell of a lit smoker and fresh beeswax that never gets old. 🍯

Expansion prep is underway. 🐝

Staining woodenware for our July splits — more hives means more bees, more pollination, and more honey headed your way this fall. A lot of work goes into a jar of honey before a single bee ever shows up. 🍯

Has your honey ever turned thick and grainy? That's not a bad thing — it's actually a sign of real, raw honey. 🍯

We put together everything you need to know about why it happens and how to bring it back to liquid if you prefer it that way.

Save this one — you'll want it handy. 🐝

Store bought BBQ sauce can’t compete with homemade — especially when local honey is in the mix. 🍯🔥

Sweet, smoky, with just enough tang to keep you coming back. This one is a summer grilling staple. Save it before the weekend. 🐝

Rush hour at Darn Good Honey Company. 🐝
When you see this many bees coming and going it means the colony is strong, the queen is laying well, and the foragers are out working the Appalachian foothills hard.

Summer honey is getting closer. 🍯

Everything starts somewhere. 🌿

We’re growing our own peppers and lavender this season — destined for our small batch infused honeys later this summer. Hot honey, lavender honey, and more. Farm to jar means exactly that around here. 🍯🐝

Summer is here and nothing beats a cold glass of homemade lemonade — especially when you swap the sugar for real local honey. 🍋🍯

The flavor difference is something else. Save this one for your next hot afternoon. 🐝
