A little sneak peek at one of the ingredients going into our *September tea blend*

Sweet, crisp apple pieces, carefully diced and dried, are making their way into this month’s blend.

We're putting together something a little different for September—fruity, bright, and perfect for those first hints of fall.

🌿✨ GARDEN CALM HERBAL TEA ✨🌿

A LITTLE LOOK BACK AT AUGUST

One of the little extras tucked into our August CSA boxes was our Garden Calm Herbal Tea - a small-batch blend of raspberry leaf, black currant leaf, spearmint, calendula, and chamomile, all chosen for a beautifully fragrant, soothing cup.

🌱 Raspberry leaf has traditionally been enjoyed as a nourishing herbal tea and contains naturally occurring polyphenols.

🍃 Black currant leaf brings a fresh, green character to the blend and has a long history of traditional herbal use.

🌿 Spearmint adds a cool, refreshing flavor that makes this tea especially lovely after a meal.

🌼 Calendula adds beautiful golden color and has traditionally been used in herbal preparations.

🌸 Chamomile brings the soft, floral character that inspired the name “Garden Calm.” Chamomile has traditionally been enjoyed as a relaxing evening tea, and preliminary research suggests it may have calming properties, although stronger clinical evidence is still needed.

We loved sending a little piece of the garden home with our CSA members and thought this blend deserved its own moment in the spotlight.

And there's something new brewing......👀

September's CSA boxes will feature a brand-new seasonal tea blend, made with a whole new combination of garden and orchard ingredients!

We'll be sharing more about the new blend soon!

That feeling.

The dirt on our hands, the little moments in between the work, the people we love, and food grown right here at home.

There’s just something about farm life that feels different.

Farm fresh. Family grown. Life well lived.

There is just something amazingly beautiful about cabbage and chard… I can’t quite put my finger on it.

Maybe it’s the layers, the colors, the textures, or the way these humble veggies transform a garden into something truly special. They’re not just food—they’re little works of art growing right outside our door.

This week has been the best week I've had in the past month.

I'm finally able to get back to doing what I love most—digging in the dirt and spending time outside with my family.

This week we harvested the garlic, cleaned out the salad bed for another planting, and slowly started catching up on w**ding. Even after a month of neglect, the garden continues to amaze me with its resilience.

Cassian and I also made it out for our Sunday family walk... or as we like to call it, "feeding the resident mosquitoes with Mom's blood."

We ended the day with a simple but delicious homegrown meal: roast chicken with potatoes seasoned with our fresh garden herb bundle—rosemary, basil, thyme, parsley, sage, tarragon, and oregano.

The simplest moments really are the ones that bring the greatest joy.

A little late, but Happy Father's Day!

This year, I want to give a special thank you to two incredible fathers in my life.

First, to my husband—thank you for being the best husband and father our family could ask for. This past week has been a whirlwind as we've welcomed our newest little farmhand into the world, and I truly don't know what I would have done without you. Thank you for keeping me sane, taking care of our family, and always being willing to jump in wherever you're needed. Watching you with our children fills my heart every single day.

And to my dad—thank you for always being up for an adventure, whether it's in the garden, in the bee yard, or tackling whatever new project I dream up next. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, your time, and your unwavering support. So much of what Sunrise Hollow Farm has become is because of the lessons you've taught me along the way.

To all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures out there—thank you for the sacrifices you make, the lessons you teach, and the love you give. We hope you had a wonderful Father's Day and know how appreciated you are.

Happy Father's Day from all of us at Sunrise Hollow Farm!

Everyone, meet Cassian Daniel Balabanov — "Ian" for short!

Our sweet baby boy made his grand entrance on June 16, 2026, and he certainly made an impression from the very beginning!

✨ 11 pounds
✨ 22 ¼ inches long

We are completely in love and soaking up every precious moment as we settle into life as a family of five. Thank you to everyone for the love, prayers, support, and well wishes throughout this journey. Our hearts are so full, and we can't wait to share more of Ian's adventures with all of you.

Welcome to the world, little man. We already love you more than words can say.

Garden update

All the plants are finally in! The walkways are finished, everything is looking beautiful, and the garden is really starting to come together. Now if only the w**ds would cooperate... after all this rain, it's already time to w**d again! 😅

The garlic scapes are coming in, which is easily one of my favorite parts of the season. The salad greens are thriving and ready for a good cutting, and it's time to get a second planting of radishes and beets in the ground. Fingers crossed they don't bolt this time 🫣

This next week is going to be a busy one as we prepare to welcome our baby boy into the world. Time is flying by way too fast! We have just one more row to plant, and then it's time to sit back, nurture what we've started, and wait for the glorious harvest ahead.

A huge shout-out to my parents and my husband for all of their help this past week. There is no way I could have tackled my never-ending honey-do list without them. I am so grateful for the support as we head into this exciting new chapter. ❤️
