The Union City Farmers’ Market is open Saturdays, year-round. It’s the best place to shop for seasonal fruits and veggies, as well as other local goods like honey, eggs, or artisan cheese! The Union City Farmers’ Market is operated by the Pacific Coast Farmers Market Association, a non-profit organization that operates multiple farmers markets throughout the Bay Area. PCFMA’s mission is to empower local farmers and ranchers to be successful in their communities, while providing those communities with access to healthier, better food. All PCFMA markets accept EBT (Cal-Fresh) and WIC FMNP (Women, Infants and Children Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program coupons). Sweet, savory, and perfect for those September days when the weather can't quite make up its mind. 🍂☀️

This Fig & Farro Salad can be enjoyed warm or cold and is easy to customize with your favorite greens and grain. We used baby kale and farro, but couscous, quinoa, or other greens work too.

And of course, the star of the show: fresh figs.
