So, exciting photos for me this morning. This doe, Rubikins, is of my breeding. She's 5 this year and she'll be presented for appraisal at my LA here. I'm still loving the foreudders and rear udder height that I'm producing in animals of my herd name. That's only a 12 hour fill! She's been dam raising this year and lives with a girlfriend in Central Alabama. She's also not clipped at all on her udder, so all that black hair makes it a lot harder to see in more contrast and definition, but I have older photos of her udder from a couple freshenings ago. That medial is holding STRONG. 😁 That foreudder is a thing of beauty in my admittedly biased but still relatively humble opinion. 😂

Little opportunists! 😂 These little miscreants are Philippa daughters, the twins that were just born while I was still at Nationals. They've figured out rather quickly that they can melt through goat panel walls and that my extra maternal saanens are an endless buffet. Crazy Pants is a FF, but she's no exception to the rule, and every time she stands and is within striking distance, these two (especially the buckskin) are on her like heat-seeking missiles. I had temporarily separated CP's kids so I could disbud/tattoo them and get her on the milk stand for more training, but so much for building any milk in that udder with these two in the vicinity! 😂

Some more excitement at home now that I'm back from Nationals! Rosie, aka Rusted Hill T Rose of Sharon, freshened with buck/doe twins yesterday, and I'm absolutely THRILLED with her udder this year. Rosie slipped her pregnancy back in the fall after getting really sick from a lingering case of acidosis after someone left my gates unlatched for me a few times while I was still recovering from COVID. 🙈 She finally managed to recover, but not in time to join my Nationals show string this year, and man do I wish she had! Just look at this foreudder. ❤️ Now time to strip their stall post-labor.

Rosie was my 8th place milking yearling during 2022 ADGA Nationals at Harrisburg, PA. She and Crazy Pants (aka Rusted Hill PGW Wild Bergamot) are both freshening this week and will be joining my string for fall shows, and then we'll see about either milking them through or drying off for another later freshening in time for Nebraska next year. Crazy Pants should be due at the end of this week! Both of these girls have a leg of their championship already, so I guess we'll see if they can finish this fall? Fingers crossed!

As if the week of Nationals wasn't exciting and chaotic enough, one of my best girls back home decided she couldn't wait for me to get back! Philippa was a very good girl and gave me twin does. ❤️ We like those! At least she's gifting me with girls after sticking me with summer kids. 🙄 I received a notification from my kidding stall camera that she was laid out and going into pre labor while it was the middle of the wine+cheese social. 🙈 Thankfully, my girl is big, wide, experienced, and an excellent dam, so she got them out, cleaned them up, and they were dry and completely fed to bursting by the time my husband toddled his way out to check on them. I have 4 more does due with late summer/early autumn kids, so I hope the remainder go as smoothly as hers!

Now I need a couple of good British sounding names for these girls since that's their dam-line naming theme. 😁 Hit me with your best suggestions!

Current situation. Why must little testicle-toters be so ridiculously sweet? This guy is cozied up on my chest, and he's drifting, and he will come back to if there's a noise, but then you'll see the rapid eye movement start to kick in as he starts drifting off again. 😂 This little guy is pet-home-bound and is going to my amazing neighbor and her kids. ❤️ I think he'll make a good pet; what do you guys think? 😉😘

I'm enjoying some of the blooms on flowers I've planted in my garden near our house out here at the farm. I have a fondness for pinks, purples, whites, and blues, but later summer will have some reds blooming as well! And now to source red spider lily bulbs for the front this fall, just like my last farm had before we moved here. ❤️

So...um... How many do I count this as? 😂 How many do you think are definitely there?
