The new boys on the block are together and ready for do their jobs later this year. Just look at those rear-ends. No jackets yet, but it won't be long if they keep eating like they are now. The one on the left is from Winter Sky in the UP. The other two are Windy Prairie.

The girls are not enjoying the hot weather spells we have been having. They line up along the wall where the turbo fan is blowing down on them to keep cool. They don't even want to go outside and would rather stay in the barn by the fans.

Not me in the photo, but I think I am breeding friendly Shetlands. Sara has never been here before, but none of the ewes and their lambs avoided the group of people that met the sheep yesterday.

All done lambing and just about recovered from all the excitement. Thirteen lambs with eight rams and five ewes. Not the greatest results, but all are adorable. They are all able to be registered in NASSA, and all their parents would do very well on the FFSSA scale if I got their parents all registered. They are out of three different rams. All are available. We are in SE WI.

The pasture is flooded in some places just like our front yard in the picture. I just let the ewes out and most of them...

The pasture is flooded in some places just like our front yard in the picture. I just let the ewes out and most of them checked out the flood just to see what it was. In the barn the new set up of the lambing jugs is almost ready. Today is the due date for lambing to begin. It doesn't look like any lambs will be here very soon. The ewes are rotund, and some are doing the pregnancy shuffle. No obvious bags aren't showing on any of them. (Something could be happening, but they are also rounded up with fleece.)

Lambs are on my mind followed by fleeces. Yesterday, we vaccinated and changed coats where needed. Seeing those fleeces makes me think that there will be some awesome fleeces in a couple months. Seeing the bulging sides of the ewes makes me think there will be some lively lambs leaping around in a few weeks.
