Our fully edible reproductions feature fully edible contents and reusable and refillable packaging and individual replacement items. We follow the original recipes down to the biscuits and chocolate and to exact size specifications. Our reusable custom made cans feature the original recipes dehydrated (just add water) and the cans can be refilled and reused. www.hero-rations.com

We finished the new nomenclature designs for our late WW2 C Rations using originals in our collection as templates. The cans, the contents inside, and their corresponding M Units are based on the specifications of Oct 31, 1944 and the contents of surviving examples. Our cans are cutok made by a food conrainer manufactuer specially for us and are designed to be reusable for reenactors to reuse or for display. They are three-piece construction and the correct size of originals. And the finish is ultra-durable printed not a paint finish that will scratch easily. And the markings are enamel, not a sticker or decal like other vendors.

A couple projects in the works. We’re getting closer to the fully reusable Vietnam War era MCI. We are finishing up the carton and meal variations we want to start with. And we’re working on the shoebox style variant of the Korean War RIC and the canned type accessory packet use briefly during the earlier part of the Korean War. Both of these are designed to be reusable and refillable.

Our new K Ration 2.0 cans next to the twist top version we did away with earlier this month. Nice to see them side by side - that’s progress. We’re coming on six years in business producing edible reproduction rations. If you told me just a year ago we’d be investing $15k in custom made cans for our rations I’d tell you to pound sand.

What’s up with the beach towel you ask? I got hungry while sitting outside. Sorry.
