MEMBER SPOTLIGHT Pyne Mountain Farm

We recently chatted with Heather Judy at Pyne Mountain Farm.

Pyne Mountain Farm is a family owned (Ty and Heather Judy) and operated farm raising local pastured raised chicken, sheep, and pigs. Chickens are their main focus. Their season runs typically from June to September!

"All of the processing and packaging is done by us on the farm," Heather explained.

The couple has a fondness for the region.

"We love this place we call home and we find importance knowing where our food comes from," she said. "We hope to be a small part of that for our community."

Heather added that the family loves the sense of community!

"The people here are our family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. We can always find a friendly face or help if we need it."

When asked about upcoming events, Heather said the main thing they are looking forward to now is "Chicken Season". Eggs are now available and they will have chicken available in June!

The best way to reach them is by phone and Facebook! They post on their page with updates and when they have chicken, eggs, etc. available. They also share updates and projects that are happening on the farm!

Did you know… younger chickens(pullets)lay smaller eggs their first season of laying, referred to as pullet eggs?? We now have some available for purchase! Our younger gals and our more mature ladies are all hard at work. Let us know if you are in need of a dozen!

When chickens are on pasture, we know summer is coming! We will process our first group on June 7th. This will be one of the only groups available for the community to purchase, so be sure to put your order in.

JR's collar chain prevents him from overexerting himself, ensuring the well-being of his flock. His bark may scare you, but his smile will melt your heart! ❤️
