The grocery store gives you two choices: white eggs or brown eggs.

But eggs can be blue. Chocolate. Olive green. Speckled terra cotta. Soft rose.

Those colors aren't a gimmick — they're breed genetics. Thousands of years of natural variation that the industrial food system selected out because it wasn't efficient enough.

Every colorful egg you collect is a small act of reclaiming something real, allowing beauty to exist even if it means a few less eggs over the course of a month. Nature art for arts sake

This is one reason of many why I love our work and mission at Alchemist Farm. We are letting the natural world speak for itself, we are standing up for better treatment and protection of it, we are educating with kindness so that more folks can think about these things and reclaim their food sources.
