Hubbard Brook Farm and Baskets

Hubbard Brook Farm and Baskets From our hands, to yours. Family run farm, attending Farmers markets since 2002. Our first green house went up in 1994. That's not all!

Today we have 3 green houses, 100 peach trees-including white- 150 high bush blueberry plants, 1,100 new strawberry plants put in fall of 2011. We have 5 acres of the best corn around, 8 varieties of raspberries-including golden and purple- along with blackberries. Over 20 varieties of heriloom tomatoes and 12 of the best cherry verities. We have experimental fruits such as pears, plums and aprico

ts. And don't forget our apples! For baking or for a snack, we have your apple. Daine has been making beautiful baskets since 1997 when she started taking classes with a local basket maker. Today She has over 100 different baskets she makes. These baskets hold up to the test. You will see them at market holding many of our fresh picked veggies and fruits. Or you'll see our customers using their baskets at market to place their goods in. Just look on the bottom to see how long its been around, Diane puts the year on each and every one. Not only that, she has been making her own bases for her baskets since 2005, and ceramics are Maine made in Oakland. On top of the designs she has, custom orders are always welcome. Come by market and you'll see Diane hard at work making her baskets, and you can see all that goes into them. Come see us every week to see what we have, it's always changing!

Our growing season is coming to an end. We will be at Belfast and Camden market till the end of the month. We gratefully thank all those that have contributed to our cause and hope more will consider helping us to achieve our goal . Hopefully mother nature will be kind to us next year and we can return with all the fruits and veggies that are customers love. Thank you!

With heavy hearts we are sharing the loss of our season. The rain has hurt many a farmer, and we unfortunatly were not an acception. Due to us being a small, family operated farm crop insurance has never been an option for us.

We have grown a family of some of the best customers around over the last 23 years. Any bit will help us contiune for more years to come.

Our biggest goal is to replace our peach and nectarine trees lost to rain rot, and help pad the blow of the loss of a large amount of our income.

We've been quiet, we know! During our winter slumber our daughter Lindsey and her boyfriend Sean embarked on another adventure in the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately 150 miles in Sean needed to be med-evacuated due to a broken ankle and foot.

Currently Lindsey is staying home with him as his surgery was quite complex and staying off his feet imperative.

All donations will be going towards covering expenses during this time. Any help is greatly appreciated by us, and them
