Earlier this month, the Van Booven family stopped by the Serve&Lift Market with a generous donation from their garden. What started as a simple gardening project has grown into a meaningful way to provide fresh food for neighbors across our community.

We loved spending time with the Van Boovens and sharing the vision behind the market. They were moved by our mission to provide families with access to fresh, healthy food. We were moved by their giving hearts.

A little rain couldn’t dampen today’s visit to BoysGrow, where growing hope starts long before market day.

We walked the fields through a shower, and then, just as quickly, the sun broke through the clouds—a perfect reminder that good things keep growing, even after the rain.

We’re grateful for partners like BoysGrow, who cultivate more than fresh produce. They’re growing opportunities, empowering young people, and helping ensure our neighbors have access to healthy, local food at the Serve&Lift Market.

From the farm to the market to our neighbors’ tables, every harvest is made possible by partnerships rooted in hope. Thank you, BoysGrow, for helping nourish our community—rain or shine. 💚

The KCK priests and seminarians may have won the game on the field Friday … but we’re claiming victory in the parking lot.

Our tailgate was full of incredible food, great conversations, laughter, and the kind of community that reminds us why we do what we do. From neighbors and volunteers to friends old and new, it was a joyful afternoon and evening celebrating together at Legends Field.

Congratulations to the Diocese of Kansas City in Kansas (KCK) team on the win—but we’re hanging our hat on an undefeated parking lot party.

255 pounds of fresh opportunity. 🍆🍅🍌🫑🍈

Today marked our very first produce rescue at the Kansas City River Market and what a harvest it was!

Together, we collected 255 pounds of generously donated produce from local farmers including plums, limes, bananas, eggplant, tomatoes, herbs, peppers, and Asian greens. Instead of going to waste, this fresh food will be making its way into the hands of neighbors shopping at the Serve&Lift Market next week.

This is what community looks like—farmers sharing their abundance, volunteers stepping up, and fresh, nutritious food finding its way to families who can use it most.

We’re grateful to everyone who made this first pickup a success. Here’s to many more pounds rescued, shared, preserved, and enjoyed!
