Le Piane is defined by a quiet, deliberate approach to w**emaking, where patience and restraint take precedence over scale or speed. Under the direction of Christoph Künzli, the estate has focused on restoring historic vineyards in Boca, a lesser-known corner of Alto Piemonte shaped by volcanic soils and a cooler alpine influence. The work centers on old vines and traditional methods, with an emphasis on structure, balance, and longevity.

Nebbiolo sits at the core, often accompanied by Vespolina and Croatina, resulting in w**es that feel lifted, aromatic, and firmly structured. Bottlings like La Maggiorina and the Boca DOC releases highlight the depth and ageability of the region, while Mimmo offers a more open, expressive take without losing that underlying structure.

There is a quiet confidence throughout the w**es, with a mineral edge and sense of tension that never feels forced. The style favors precision over weight, allowing each vineyard to come through with clarity and restraint. At ACME, it’s an approach we consistently value for its focus and sense of place.

A southern expression rooted in precision and restraint, Domaine Gros-Tollot is set in the rugged landscape of the Minervois, where limestone, clay, and Mediterranean influence shape w**es with both structure and lift. Founded by Anne Gros and Jean-Paul Tollot, the estate reflects a thoughtful approach to farming and w**emaking, with a focus on balance, freshness, and clarity of site.

The w**es move seamlessly from vibrant, approachable styles to more site-driven expressions. Bottlings like La 50/50 and La CinsO offer a lighter, more lifted profile, while Les Fontanilles provides a classic introduction to Minervois with layered fruit and subtle structure. Cuvées such as Les Carretals and La Ciaude bring added concentration and complexity, shaped by old vines and hillside parcels. The Blanc and L’O de la Vie add further range and versatility.

Across the portfolio, the w**es reflect a clear and consistent point of view, where structure is balanced by freshness and ripeness is kept in check. The style favors nuance over excess, allowing each site to come through with clarity.

Set along the eastern hills of Napa Valley, White Rock Vineyards is a family-owned estate rooted in both history and intention. The property dates back to the 1870s, with its modern chapter shaped by the Vandendriessche family beginning in the late 1970s. Their approach is grounded in stewardship, with organically farmed vineyards and a focus on producing estate-grown w**es that emphasize balance, structure, and longevity.

The hillside site and volcanic soils naturally limit yields, resulting in w**es with concentration and clarity without excess weight. Cabernet Sauvignon remains the cornerstone, offering depth, refined tannins, and a composed expression of Napa Valley. The Claret, a Bordeaux-style blend, brings added dimension and versatility, while Chardonnay highlights freshness, texture, and restrained oak.

At ACME, we’re pleased to offer a selection that reflects this thoughtful approach, including the 2022 Napa Valley Chardonnay, the 2020 Claret, and the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon. Each w**e captures the estate’s commitment to precision and place, offering a more measured and quietly confident take on Napa Valley w**emaking.

Tucked into the remote reaches of the West Sonoma Coast, Peay Vineyards has built a reputation for precision, restraint, and a deep respect for site. Founded in 1998 by siblings Andy and Nick Peay alongside w**emaker Vanessa Wong, the estate sits just four miles from the Pacific, where cold winds, fog, and rugged soils shape w**es of natural acidity and layered complexity. Farming is meticulous and sustainable, with a focus on allowing each block to speak clearly through the finished w**e.

Peay is especially known for its Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah, each reflecting the extreme coastal conditions in different ways. Their West Sonoma Coast Chardonnay offers freshness and mineral drive, while the Estate Chardonnay Maritima shows added depth and texture. Pinot Noir is a cornerstone of the portfolio, from the balanced West Sonoma Coast bottlings to single vineyard expressions like Pomarium, Scallop Shelf, and Estate, each highlighting subtle shifts in elevation and exposure. Syrah, including La Bruma and Les Titans, delivers savory intensity and structure without excess weight.

Available through Acme, these w**es offer a compelling look at one of California’s most distinctive coastal producers.

Few producers have shifted the global perception of a grape the way Moric has with Blaufränkisch. Founded by Roland Velich in Burgenland, the estate set out with a radical premise: treat Blaufränkisch with the same seriousness afforded to the great grapes of Burgundy or Piedmont. Through meticulous vineyard selection and an uncompromising cellar philosophy, Moric has become synonymous with world-class Austrian red w**e.

Velich works extensively in Mittelburgenland, particularly in Lutzmannsburg, where old vines rooted in clay and limestone soils yield fruit of remarkable depth and structure. Farming is careful and site-driven, and cellar work favors native fermentation and aging in large, neutral oak to preserve nuance rather than imprint flavor. The w**es are built for longevity, defined by clarity, mineral tension, and architectural precision. Critics and sommeliers alike regard Velich not only as a benchmark producer, but as one of the most influential voices in Austria’s modern w**e identity.

Library w**es are available upon request. Reach out to learn more.

Precision defines Paulo Laureano long before place does. Trained as an agronomist and widely regarded as one of Portugal’s leading authorities on native grape varieties, Laureano has built his career around studying, preserving, and elevating indigenous Portuguese cultivars. His work in Alentejo is not about international polish. It is about identity.

Working primarily with grapes such as Antão Vaz, Arinto, and Alicante Bouschet, Laureano farms in the warm plains of Alentejo, where clay and schist soils retain crucial moisture beneath intense sun. Careful canopy management protects freshness, while thoughtful oak aging adds structure without masking varietal character. His w**es consistently earn praise for their balance of ripeness and restraint, proving Alentejo can deliver both power and elegance when guided with discipline.

Our current selection includes Paulo Laureano “Ema’s Vineyard” Tinto 2020 and “Ema’s Vineyard” Branco 2021, as well as Branco “Private Selection” 2015, Branco “Private Selection” 2019, and Tinto “Private Selection” 2017. The Ema’s Vineyard w**es emphasize freshness and approachability, with the Branco offering vibrant citrus and stone fruit layered over mineral tension, and the Tinto delivering dark berry fruit, subtle spice, and measured structure. The Private Selection bottlings offer greater depth and dimension, showcasing concentration, savory complexity, and the quiet power that comes from deliberate aging and exacting vineyard management.

04/03/2026

In the southern reaches of the Chianti Classico zone, Rocca di Castagnoli stands as one of Tuscany’s most historic estates, its roots tracing back nearly a thousand years. The property surrounds an ancient medieval hamlet and castle, with vineyards rising between roughly 450 and 650 meters above sea level. These elevations, combined with galestro and alberese soils, create ideal conditions for Sangiovese: slow ripening, bright acidity, and finely etched tannins.

Today, Rocca di Castagnoli blends deep tradition with meticulous modern viticulture. Vineyard parcels are farmed with careful attention to clonal selection and site expression, and cellar work emphasizes precision over excess. Large casks and measured oak aging preserve aromatic purity while enhancing structure, resulting in w**es that speak clearly of place. The estate has earned consistent critical recognition for its classic yet refined style, often praised for balance, age-worthiness, and authenticity within Chianti Classico.

At Acme, we are pleased to offer Rocca di Castagnoli Chianti “Fattoria di Scannano” 2019, Rocca di Castagnoli Chianti Classico 2021, and Rocca di Castagnoli Cabernet Sauvignon “Buriano,” IGT Toscana 2019. From the bright cherry and savory herbs of their Sangiovese-based w**es to the dark currant and structured depth of Buriano, each bottle captures a distinct facet of this storied Tuscan estate.

Rooted in the rugged foothills of the Sierra de Toloño mountains in Rioja Alavesa, Sierra de Toloño is the personal project of w**emaker Sandra Bravo, one of the most compelling voices in modern Rioja. After training in Bordeaux and working throughout Spain and France, Bravo returned to her native Rioja with a singular vision: to champion high-elevation, old-vine sites through organic farming and minimal intervention. She works primarily with small, often abandoned parcels planted in limestone and clay soils, farming organically and harvesting by hand to preserve site expression.

Fermentations rely on native yeasts, with restrained oak and thoughtful élevage allowing freshness and terroir to lead. The resulting w**es are precise, lifted, and textural, redefining Rioja with clarity and elegance. Bravo has earned acclaim for her transparent, vineyard-driven approach, with consistent praise from leading Spanish and international critics for her Garnacha and white Rioja bottlings.

At Acme, we’re proud to carry the Sierra de Toloño Rioja Blanco 2024, Sierra de Toloño Rioja Tinto 2023, Sierra de Toloño Rioja Garnacha de Altura 2022, and the “Nahikun” Rioja Blanco 2023, each offering a distinctive expression of Rioja’s altitude, limestone soils, and contemporary energy.
