Customer Project | 1940 Allis Chalmers B
This 1940 Allis Chalmers B was purchased and brought home to Aledo, Texas in December 2020. The tractor had previously been used in Pennsylvania for cultivating a large garden and snow removal and, while well cared for over the years, showed its age.
The restoration included a full teardown and inspection, with a rebuilt engine featuring sleeves, pistons, bearings, and a refurbished replacement head, along with updates to the radiator, brakes, axle seals, tires, seat, and other components. All castings and small parts were painted by the owner, while the sheet metal was sandblasted, repaired, painted, and clear coated by Diamond C in Granbury, Texas using Van Sickle products.
A unique decal on the tool box lid was carefully preserved during restoration, honoring the tractor’s history and previous owner’s connection to an Allis-Chalmers dealership. The project reflects both craftsmanship and heritage, with the owner looking forward to sharing the tractor at shows across North and East Texas.
