And, here it is… the post I’ve been dreading.
Life is an interesting adventure. One minute, you think you know what’s coming and the very next, it’s like riding a roller coaster in the dark.
As our human children and loved ones age, we find our priorities demanding to shift. One day last fall, it hit me between the eyes and I’ve done my best to ignore it. Then this spring, the message was delivered loud and clear.
What does all this mean? Over the last few months, we have quietly undergone some dramatic downsizing. All of our 2023 kids have been sold and will be off to their new homes, and many of our sweet does and all our breeding bucks have also found new homes. By the end of the month, we will have gone from a herd of 70+ to just nine does.
I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know this is where our attention and energy needs to be in the moment. Maybe someday we will find our way back to breeding. Maybe we will keep our handful and just enjoy their company. I’ve not decided what to do with this page and our website. For now, you will still be able to find us here and I may continue to share some of our goat and other farm fun adventures.
To answer some of your questions:
- We will not be offering Snugs & Cuddles events in the foreseeable future.
- We won’t be offering breeding services this fall.
- We will not be holding a kidding season in 2024 and future years are to be determined.
- At this time, our soap is still available on our website and will likely be until we sell down some of our inventory.
We will likely have some equipment available for sale including heated buckets, feed pans, disbudding irons, soap making supplies, etc. If anything is of interest, or if you’re looking for something specific, feel free to reach out. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions or need help with your goat friends. I’m thankful for each one of you that have crossed our paths throughout the years. ❤️
