I’ve always believed that the world has a way of showing you when you’re on the right path. And honestly, there have been a LOT of those moments over the last few months.

One of the really special parts of coming back to goats has been reconnecting with former customers who have become friends over the years. Because of these friendships and connections, we’ve been able to bring home pieces of our old herd’s genetics.

And, one of the most meaningful has been Quinn.

When we first got into goats, we bought five goats from the same farm. Quinn was one of those five.

She celebrated her 10th birthday this year, and now, she’s home again.

And the craziest part? She hasn’t missed a beat. She settled right back in like she never left. Her favorite thing to do is to lay under the maple tree or on the slide and enjoy life. 😂

Quinn has been part of so many chapters of our goat journey, and having her here again feels like one of those little signs that maybe, just maybe, we really are exactly where we’re supposed to be. 🧡 🐐

This video of Quinn and Stiehl from 9 years ago has me in a puddle. 🫠

There’s something kind of exciting about starting over.

When we sold out, we knew that if we ever came back to goats, there would be a lot of rebuilding involved. And there definitely is. 😅 We’ve had to replace things we sold, rebuild things we used to have, and basically start putting the pieces of the farm back together.

But one of the really nice things about starting over is that we get to do some things better this time. We built a new milk/hoof trimming/all the things stand. And this time, we made it TALLER. Because apparently, I didn’t think about how much bending over I’d be doing the first time around between milking, trimming hooves, giving haircuts, etc. My back would like to thank me. 😂

There are lots of little things like that. Things we learned the first time around that we can change or improve now that we’re rebuilding.

We’re definitely not starting from scratch. We have everything we learned the first time around with us.
There’s still a LOT to do, but it’s really fun watching the pieces start to come together again.

And standing here with a bunch of goats around me, next to something we built ourselves, again? Yeah. It feels really good to be back. ❤️🐐

A few years ago, we shared that we were stepping away from farming to focus on what mattered most in that season. It wasn't an easy decision, but it was the right one.

And now… we're back!

Hilltop Haven Farmstead is officially back in business! We're excited to begin rebuilding our herd of registered Nigerian Dwarf goats and return to a life we love. Join us for many farm updates and, starting next year, we will once again have kids available.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged us along the way. We can't wait to share this journey with you again.

Here's to fresh beginnings at Hilltop Haven Farmstead. 🐐✨

Three years ago, almost to the day, we shared one of the hardest announcements we'd ever made.

We never imagined where the next few years would take us.

Some stories aren't finished.

Stay tuned! 🧡
