A new tradition honoring Dolly Parton’s legacy is coming September 25.

The Dollywood Foundation has announced Give Like Dolly Day, a global day dedicated to supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and other organizations helping children in their local communities.

Dolly started the Imagination Library in 1995 in honor of her father, who could not read or write. What started right here in East Tennessee has grown into the largest early childhood book-gifting program in the world, providing free books to children from birth to age five through local programs in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and the Republic of Ireland.

On September 25, people are encouraged to support their local Imagination Library program, help bring the program to communities that don’t currently have one, or support another organization helping children in their area.

Dolly always believed that if you’re in a position to help someone, you should.

Now, every September 25 will be Give Like Dolly Day — a day to carry that spirit forward and help children dream bigger, learn more and discover a lifelong love of reading.

You can find the Imagination Library program serving your community by visiting ImaginationLibrary.com and selecting “Check Availability.”

He researches the food, puts together a “schedule”, books the rides and makes sure we get to experience a little bit of everything everyone in the family wants to do. ❤️
