Five years ago the electric company came out to our farm to move a utility light pole that needed to be relocated because of new fencing. As they pulled in with their trucks and equipment they all started to ask me about the LGD that worked that field, and if they should be concerned. I told them no, that the one they needed to be worried about was Mac Truck (Annie Mac), and I pointed her out to them. They all chuckled, and started working. A few minutes into the job, here comes Annie Mac across the field with every intention to start handing out some lessons, and the only words I could get out was, “oh crap”! Thankfully most of the crew inside the fence were in trucks and lifts, and she finally learned they weren’t a threat and got bored of the situation.
I’ll never forget that day and the confidence she had walking across that pasture. She was one of a kind and something special, in the most sincere and the most frustrating way. She is deeply missed!
