I’m thankful I stumbled into this hobby.
It started as a way to contribute to feeding my family as a stay at home mom.
It has bloomed into so much more than that.
The husbandry has created routine beyond the walls of my home.
The rabbits are a quiet companion, knowing when I need a morale boost the most.
Friendships have been created from showing and networking.
My children are learning life lessons and responsibility.
This hobby is very forgiving and for that I will be forever grateful 🧡

Afternoon naps hit hard yesterday in the rabbitry. There’s something so peaceful about seeing them all relaxed and death napping 😅🧡

Cavi’s kits have been doing so good! They are 3 weeks old and have left the nest box (against their will 😅). They are out and about exploring the hutch and munching on hay and pellets 🤎

I am so happy with how the growout stackers turned out. I used TealStone Homestead’s plan and built 95% of it myself! I usually don’t paint my rabbitry builds but decided why not and am glad I did. The pop of color is so fun! Here’s to having some extra wiggle room in my rabbitry 💜💚

What’s your tools of choice for processing?

I love my Cutco for cutting the head off. The hoof trimmers to cut the legs and tail. I use to use an exacto knife for my precise cuts, but hated that it never seemed 100% clean after using. I found this pelting knife on amazon. It’s like a giant Exacto knife. It took some getting use to but now I love it and I know it’s clean after use.

Happy Mail! 😍 I can’t wait to get these cages built and my grow out stackers assembled. No more strategic cage shuffling

It felt so dang good to be back showing again!

I took 5 of Torvi’s growouts and my Argente St Hubert buck.

Snitzy was exhibition only but had really good feedback and I’m excited for him to get to work in the fall.

SR22 - Jr Doe, Won 2 legs! Show A Jr doe class and took home Best Opposite Show A.

SR19 - Jr Doe, Won 1 leg! Show B Jr doe class. I was told by the judge to make sure I continue to grow her out because she has the start of something great.

SR20 and SR21 placed mid pack in the Jr bucks both shows and have some growing up to do.

Congratulations to Paint Creek Rabbitry and Jones Rabbits and Homestead on their wins, also! It’s such a good feeling to see our home grown’s on the table and doing well for themselves.

At the end of the day I was gifted a wee little Netherland dwarf by our show neighbor. The kids are so excited to have her and I’ve named her Hedwig.

Now to relax until August 🧡
