The stretch between lighting the fire and sitting down to eat might be the best part of the week. 🔥

Nobody's in a hurry once the coals are going. Somebody wanders out to the pavilion and turns the lights on, somebody else brings a chair over, and the talking gets easy in a way it never quite does indoors.

We lit this one for nothing in particular, no birthday and nobody's anniversary, just the sun going down and somebody saying they were hungry, and that was about as far as the plan went.

Then the payoff, which is a porterhouse that came off this ranch in Knippa, raised by our own family with no added hormones, cooked over a fire out back and carried to a table full of people we love. Farm to table isn't a slogan out here, it's the distance between our pasture and that plate, and y'all can see every step of it.

Who's the one that always turns up when you light the fire? 👇

We didn't plan any of this. 🌅

30 years ago this was a ranch and nothing else. We kept showing up, and somewhere along the way it turned into something that feeds our neighbors.

The ones who stop by the store on a Saturday, who text us what they're cooking, who sent a picture of their kid's first steak.

Y'all made a living out of something our family loves doing. We don't take a day of it for granted.

And where will you find us?? At Farm Fresh Beef!

What's the last meal you made that people are still talking about? 👇
