• Ensuring a connection between farmers and school cafeterias enabling the sale of local fresh produce into institutions (schools, senior centers, hospitals, etc.) and area restaurants.
• Supporting opportunities to learn that highlight the relationship between children and the food that they eat by integrating school gardens, farming, and health and nutrition as components of educational programming.
• Sharing essential information through trainings and individualized technical assistance that engage farmers and buyers about traditional and innovative agricultural methods in the areas of food safety, quality management systems, marketing, enterprises and resource development focused on community food and agriculture initiatives.
• Building the public’s understanding of the interrelationship between farming, food, health, education, and economic development by fostering rural and urban community networks.
• Helping communities achieve food security that include food retail and financing opportunities.
• Empowering previously disenfranchised voices and advancing informed policy through civic engagement and advocacy education.
• Connecting food, agriculture, health and equity issues by assisting groups and communities in local, state and federal policy work.
• Supporting the creation of pollinator-friendly habitat in Solano County to enhance and regenerate the ecological, agricultural, economic and cultural health, vitality and well-being of people, pollinators and places.
• Educating children and adults about the importance of consuming locally produced food and supporting local agriculture.
• Gathering folks in learning environments such as the our future plans to have an Annual Farm To Fork Festival in Solano County.
