Evening thoughts after gathering eggs π
These warmer temps have transformed some of our Marans from soft fluffy chickens into little roaring broody pinecones, protesting each time we gather eggs π€
Next week we are looking at possible triple digits here in Eastern Oregon. It's critical that your birds have proper ventilation in their coops to prevent overheating in the summer. Broody hens will often join forces, claiming a favorite nesting box and sharing it in a joint effort to raise their own little brady bunch π£π£π£
It's VERY important their nesting boxes have good air flow/ventilation and all hens have access to fresh, cool water.
Do you have any questions or concerns raising chickens in the High Desert summers? Don't hesitate to reach out!
