We’ve moved!
Got our feathers in early last week and sister Kayla booted us from our kennel inside to the big coop!
At first we didn’t know we were supposed to go in there at night to sleep so sister had to come down for a few nights and show us but now we roost!
Next stop: egg laying 😎

We knew going into owning chickens that they are at the bottom of natures food chain 😔 Monday afternoon we lost Alanis and Pat to a coyote. They are completely free range during the day and we understood the risk. Blondie has been very upset. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers 🐓😇🙏

The ladies have slowed down their laying in these cold, dark months so we’re not getting as many but they’re still pretty!!

Little miss Blondie got locked out of the coop last night…she didn’t make it in before the door closed 😔 we found her almost frozen with ice everywhere on her! Luckily I brought her inside this morning and left her in there for a few hours and she perked up. Looks like there may be some frostbite on the top of her comb but her feet look ok 👍🏻
🚨Fun Fact: Chickens are very susceptible to frostbite on their combs and feet. They hate the snow ❄️☃️

We’ve been MIA lately! Took some time off social media to enjoy the holidays with our human family 😌 we’re back with some exciting news! We have a new layer!! Ms. Pat has started laying dark brown speckled eggs🤗 we are very excited for her.
We hope everyone stays warm this weekend with the weather coming🥶we will be staying in the coop this weekend huddling together! Our body temps are 106 degrees so we should stay warm!

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the passing of Ms. Janet (aka the black one). She escaped the coop around 9 yesterday morning and ventured into the woods and never came out 😔
She was the most loving and friendly…she will be missed
