Enchanted Farm's selling naturally raised meat and eggs

This week’s been a bit of a whirlwind! I finally made it to Arkansas on Saturday after a long, grueling drive—just in time for the snow to start falling. It’s been a busy week with work keeping me tied up, but I managed to squeeze in a trip to the post office to get my address set up and figure out where the mailbox needs to go. I even made a quick run to Mountain Home to grab the materials for it. Now all that’s left is the fun part—getting it in the ground!

The real excitement, though, is Chris flying into Springfield tomorrow night! We’ll get some much-needed quality time together before heading back to Yellville on Tuesday morning after my medical appointments. I do have to work the evening shift Tuesday, but with Chris here this week, I’m hoping we can knock out some serious progress on the property. Lots to do, but it’s all starting to come together!

Farm update: We’ve got an address now, which feels like a huge win! Not much has happened on the property yet, though, since I’ve been stuck in South Carolina for the past couple of weeks. Every time I finally get a day off, the weather decides to throw a tantrum. Wait—what’s that white stuff falling from the sky? Snow? Seriously, South Carolina?! But come hell or high water, I’m hitting the road Saturday!

We’ve got a few grading companies lined up to swing by in the first week of February to give us a quote for clearing a spot to bring in the tiny home. It’s a repo—16x50—and I’m already dreaming of the cozy space we’ll make out of it.

While I’ve been stuck in limbo, I’ve been busy drawing up rough blueprints for the house. Squeezing everything we want into 800 square feet has been a real brain teaser, but I’m confident I’ll make it work. I’ve also been setting some goals for the farm, and my main mission is to avoid burnout by pacing myself. No need to conquer the world in year one!

Here’s the plan for this year:
• Get moved into the tiny home (hopefully with heat that works!)
• Start raising 10 egg-laying chickens (who will probably run the place)
• Keep it chill with just 3 8x4 garden beds to begin with (baby steps)
• Turn the easement area into a wildflower wonderland
• Set up a bee hive and see if I can convince a swarm to move in this fall
• Start clearing the land (don’t want the trees to think they run the show)

I know it’s still a lot, but we’re going to make this place feel like home, one step at a time!

This weekend, I made a trip to Arkansas to take my camper. I’ve placed it in a temporary area for now, but I still need to set it up and winterize it before the colder months arrive. I’m looking forward to getting on the property in a few months, as it will be an exciting new chapter.

While I was there, We took the opportunity to walk the property and began marking the trees that we want to keep. I also identified several that will need to be cut down for various reasons, whether for safety or to improve the overall landscape. Additionally, I’m hoping to get a quote for a fence survey this week so that I can schedule it and get that process underway.

Unfortunately, I had to head back to the Carolinas on Sunday. I’ve got work this week, but I'm also focused on packing more items I’ll need for the property. My goal is to get the cargo trailer up there next week, ideally before the holidays hit. Though progress feels slow at times, everything is gradually falling into place, and I’m excited about what’s to come.

Although I have not yet relocated to the new property, progress is underway. My parents are initiating site development by constructing a pathway to one of the ponds, a necessary step for driveway installation and obtaining an official address. Upon my arrival, I will facilitate road grading and arrange for gravel supplies, thereby completing the prerequisites for submitting an address request.

Enchanted Farms is moving to a new home. After unforeseen life altering events that happened to me, I lost my home and farm that I helped build and mange. I have found a new property and will start this journey all over again. My new farm will be in Arkansas. I will be starting again on 62 acres with 2 ponds and lots of fertile ground. I will begin again in December 2024. I will keep you all informed on the progress with new farm. Much love to the community and I look forward to sharing the new journey with everyone!
